Another of the devs here. Just wanted to say that Blue's was my original goto games site, back in the days of Quake. It's been a while since I've been around, but I just wanted to say that we really appreciate you posting about our game!

My Steam client has been telling me October 9th for the last couple of weeks. Not sure where you got the 5th from. In any case, four days seems like a rather small time period to be upset about.

I consider it probably the best deal on a gaming package I've ever had. Of course the fact that the Aussie dollar is so strong at the moement helps (as I'm paying probably half on Steam what I would pay in the shops), but even if that wasn't the case, TF2 is already the most fun I've had with a shooter in years. The other two games are looking sweet too

I bought and pre-loaded it on Steam. Sure, it took a couple of days to arrive, but there were no dramas, and it's all here now. I'm quite used to downloading massive files on bittorrent.

What I'd like to know is why it gets unlocked for North and South Americans four days before I can play it (I have to wait until Friday). I mean four days, what's the point?

Wow, the person who wrote the Warhammer Online preview really did their homework. Their intro paragraph is based on a factual error that is clearly dismissed in the answer to the very first question... duh.

This isn't as interesting to me as the Climax version was, but at least we'll be seeing something Warhammer, which is always a good thing.

Who says developers over-hype their games?

What I want to know is how in the hell is this new one "Worms 4"? By my count it's the third 3D installment and the seventh game total.

The reason people bitch about Doom 3, when they glossed over the flaws of previous id games, is quite simply that the standards have been raised. In the old days, the prettiest graphics and a bit of action put you on top of the heap, but people expect a little more depth now. For my money id should just become a technology company, either that or hire some real designers.

I'm disappointed that it's not the Australian Football League AFL would make a much better computer game that American football does.

I *liked* the darkness and the flashlight. It was the one part of the design they did right.

Haha, I was just about to post the same quote. I'm trying to work out what the "so many other cool things going on" were. No surprise that they suddenly realise what's *actually* cool after playing HL2.

Even if they'd put it in, it wouldn't have been implemented as well as the Grav Gun, I'm sure, though it sure would have stolena bit of Valve's thunder.

And they've stolen bullet-time from Max Payne as well.. they claim it's different because the player stays at normal speed while the world slows down, but I believe that was the case in MP2 as well.

Actually Doom started it all...

And it's hard to talk about keeping signature Quake gameplay, when all three games so far have been pretty distinct from each other. Personally I had a lot of fun with Q2, especially the multiplayer, but it was completely wiped out a year later by HL.

These screenshots look okay, but HL2s graphical style will always do more for me than D3/Q4s, even if it is technically inferior. We're past the days when the most high-tech game art is automatically the coolest. Good thing too.
