its gonna be an amazing winter season for PC Gamers ,)
I beg to differ. Not for PC gamers in general. Only for people who care about these games. I'm a PC gamer and i'm not interested in Bethesda RPGs since effin boring Arena. I'm not interested in military shooters. And for Rage ... someday i might play it, but Rage isn't a must-have.

I still have so many unplayed games left on my list, i dont need no more new games for the next two or three years

Exactly, every late spring/early summer there's this huge dry area that's just begging to be filled.
You guys DO notice, that they are not comparing August sales to May sales of the same year, but comparing to LAST YEARS August sales? Where we still had the same release schedule than every year with most games being released in spring and autumn?

I'm imagining a COD MMO, where 12 year olds pay a monthly fee "an annual subscription" and sit around all day talking smack and camping spawn points.
I'm imagining playing no more crap from the major publishers ... oh, wait! 2TActiBlizzHUbiEAsoftQK can do whatever they want. I do not care anymore about them or their games.

One day i realised that i have SO MUCH unplayed and potentially interesting games from the last 15-20 years all across several plattforms, that i need no more new games. I have the luxury to simply say: Meh!

So, is there a way to buy it direct from the devs or from another platform? Because Steam is DRM.

Comparing augmentations to DRM is a bit far-fetched.
DXHR is about control, DRM is about control. The Illuminati want to control the augments for power and the publisher want to control the game experience to maximise profit.

Come to Germany, where milk and honey flows!! But sadly it's socialist milk and honey, so let your babies die born free ... *muhahahaha*

No, really. It's not bad there. In fact, it's quite nice

It seems that EVE-Online is still populated by those "if you aren't tough enough to play EVE, go play WOW"- elitist geeks that the game was full of while I still played it.
Quite funny, yet the sheer self-denial "We are not typical MMOG geeks, we are tough elite of MMOGs !" is almost tragic.

oh you poor soul you must have really sucked at eve
:p
try it again they've made a few tutorials to make it easier for people
You must be one of them.

And before you say it, i know that using proxy for buying stuff is fraud
It is? Where? This is not fraud, this is merely against some EULA chapters, nothing more. No judge will come after you, when you buy stuff from a company from a region where they do not want to sell you stuff. I frequently buy games on Steam with a proxy.

If i remember correctly U4 was made freeware to promote U9 or UO, so it's freeware since a few years now

Also, can't believe that after Oblivion gave such good DLC in the long run ...
That "DLC" was in fact a complete and gourgeous addon and not some fancy horse armor or a nice little tower with a few quests. People bitching about DLC do want full grown addons and no DLC crap. They consider themselves "customers" and not sheeple who fall for the very clever micropayment scheme, where you pay in the long run MUCH MORE for the same content.

I'd also point out the difference between the likely costs of development for a studio in Eastern Europe versus one in the US or Canada... it's entirely possible that CD Projekt Red simply doesn't need as high of sales expectations on those grounds.
I remember Eidos complaining about 1.5 million sales of Kane & Lynch, worldwide, all plattforms, as "not quite what they hoped for" and "dissapointing".

What in God's Allmighty Name did they spent on this game?

99% of developers nowadays whine like a fucking mule if their game doesn't sell 87 million copies.
I always think of Crytek, when someone mentions "whiny" developers

Remember the whining about the sales of Crysis: "Meh, meh, meh, pirates, stupid PC customers, it's all YOUR fault! We cancel further patch support and YOU are to blame and no one else!! *door slamming*"

Well, but in the long run Crysis was one of the most succesfull PC only titles of the entire EA catalogue, selling more than 3 million units and an additional 1.5 million units of Warhead.

Steamworks FAQ -> See all the items in the sidebar to the right. Steamworks does many things. I think the most important thing it provides is a store, you as a developer don't have to worry about. And enough customers "in" that store to make it the biggest candidate.
Thnx!
