Even if it's not Ultima in name and he can't get the rights he knows what everyone wants so just fucking make it!
I had my fun with all Ultima games, even UO. Two years ago i started replaying them. Right now i'm hacking my way across mars with Martian Dreams. I played the remakes made with Dungeon Siege. I play U9 on a regular basis, trying out new restoration mods. I am content, i made my peace. Ultima is finished, its over. Let it rest.

And i dont think that Garriott is able to recreate the same amount of magic and fun he created back in the days with the help of people like Warren Spector and other Origin employees. He had his time, i thank him for that. But as with Ultima, just let the man fly to space and make stupid social games to finance this awesome hobby.

Recent games like Assassin's Creed 3 and Far Cry 3 took advantage of DX11 features and really had a lot of effort put in.
A lot of effort? A variety of people experiencing a lot (!) of technical problems with these two games might think otherwise.

Confusion in the console world: Publishers suddenly scream "PIRATES PC PLAYERS WE LURVE YOU PLEEEZE PLAY OUR GAMEZ! PLEEZZ??"

In 2014, the rhetoric will be "TEH CONSOLES ARE TEH BESTEST FUCK TEH PC PLAYERS PIRATES!"
Yupp. Its only marketing. Nothing more.

Oh well, lessons learned for the future hopefully.
One might learn, but i dont know. Remember the Postmortem of Alpha Protocol, where it was said that the game suffered heavily from different opinions between Obsidians producer and SEGAs management on what kind of game AP should be? Same story with A:CM

Not to mention visuals are the least of biowares problems in it's recent games (ME3, TOR, DA2, etc). They need to seriously get their priorities in order.
After the invention of the AWESOME button Bioware finally can start focusing on visuals!

Thats nice for Demolition Derby fans, but i would prefer a proper Flatout 3. Heck, if there might be a way to buy back the franchise name via Kickstarter and force Strategy First to remove everything related to "their" Flatout 3 ... i would back the hell out of my credit card.

Some people are emotional dependent on games. They CANNOT act otherwise, even when they exactly know what they are doing.

Pure PR spin - it doesnt actually say anything or promise anything specific.
Yep, just some words. I want to see deeds from Ubi. Like, not putting features in their games which do only work when connected. Features, which are essential in later game play stages like in Anno 2070.

Well, seeing as this is an extended tech demo, I'm not interested at all either, so I don't really care too much
Crysis is always good for a cheap Steam sale. Snatched Crysis 2 for a few bucks some weeks ago. Max. settings are too much for my current hardware, but i was suprised how "not bad" Crysis 2 looks, when you lower the graphic settings. In most games you get a horrible mess of lowres textures and bland, static lighting because all the jizz was in the shaders you switched off, but Crysis 2 ... still looks respectable with lower settings. From a technical standpoint, not bad, not bad at all.

Yeah, gameplay & story are, as always, boring as hell, but i didnt bought this game for gaming

Yeah exactly. The Aliens in the films are not bro fodder, they were smart and worked around obstacles, constantly outwitting the humans.

You might have missed the director's cut of Aliens then. Because the turret scene where they just charge up the tunnel getting constantly mowed down is exactly the type of scene you're saying didn't happen.
It's not only this scene. The whole movie consists of battling groups of normal Alien warriors. The only "intelligent" alien was the Queen.

In fact, Camerons "Aliens" was heavily critisized for that, reducing The Monster from the first movie to a simple practice target.

Also, pretty much anyone tries cross platform play, they have to nerf PC users or boost console users (with auto aim etc), so I'm pretty sure PC users are at an advantage.
Remember this Shadowrun shooter? They hyped cross plattform play, they tried it, they scrapped it. Because this does not work with shooters. In fact, cross plattform gameplay works with only very very few genres.

That is easy. Especially for Crytek. Simply redo the coding mess you did with Crysis 1.

They revamped the equipment system, the skill system, the combat and the party system.
In this case: Revamping = dumbing down. A lot!

In comparison to Gothic, Risen 2 was nice and simple action game with a few RPG elements. I am GLAD, that the sales of Risen 2 weren't nearly as high as expected. As with Gothic 4: Arcania, the attempt to gain a broader audience for a once dedicated niche RPG franchise was not very sucessful. RPG fans do not want a watered down gameplay and "casual" players have no interest in a game they knew only as a complicated and time consuming RPG.

I'm not sure how they can make that statement with a straight face.
When marketing not only markets your game, but begins shaping your thoughts and actions, thats when you start talking bull. Just look at Randy Pitchfail. This guy was talking smack for years and now he starts to believe in his own lies, resulting in this horrible failure named Colonial Marines.
