I like it a ton, it's basically an interactive story with turn based combat resolutions and some RPG elements.

They didn't remove the water chip time limit, that wasn't the shitty one. The shitty one was the 500 day limit for the mutant army. You could easily spend that much time wandering around. That's the time limit they removed.

Procedurally generating worlds as complicated as a AAA title like Assassin's Creed or Skyrim would need some sort of advanced AI to make work. Otherwise you're limited to very simple graphics.

What you are asking for would take an Elder Scrolls budget...no way that ever happens without an explosion in genre popularity.

What do you want? It's a crowd funded game and it's still new territory. This game has basically broken the record for crowdfunding a videogame. If they were smart they'd ignore their own stretch goals and just get a competent space combat game put together first, then focus on the other shit they promised.

That is actually their plan. Squadron 47 is the single player campaign that's coming out before Star Citizen. It won't be the open universe.

There's some confusion as to how this game is going to play I think. There's a full single player campaign separate from the sandbox. That is going to be Wing Commander style, missions from a carrier. Even if the sandbox turns out shit, it's worth the 60 bucks right there. That's gonna get released first.

They are also releasing the sandbox universe, which can be played privately or in the open server. Completing the single player game will net you a starting ship for the sandbox universe.

I get what you're saying, but "gameplay" to me would be showing the inventory, skill trees, combat rounds, quest log, etc...


To me the draw of the game is playing in an interactive South Park episode. If it feels like a 10 hour episode of South Park where I get to make some of the terrible choices....I'll be happy.
