I dunno about buggy, played about 3 hours last night, didn't have any problems on the steam version. It's pretty much an interactive South Park episode, so pretty great if you're into that.

There will always be regional pricing. You can't sell a game for the same 20 USD everywhere, some places cannot afford it.

this is a win win for these chuckleheads...

when the game comes out, and people bitch about how lackluster everything is, how theres nothing to do, etc.. they can just say "but but but! thats the limitations of the procedural generation technology!! not our fault!" and go back to counting their stacks of money, or maybe taking a swim in it scrooge mcduck style

I love it when jackasses trying to sound wise completely fuck up their reading comprehension.

FoV slider is going to be in the final game. Currently you can adjust it in the hangar module with the cryengines console.

The change is a very good thing for John and for the rest of the gaming community. A mind as brilliant as his needs to shake things up every once in a while and go down new paths.

I couldn't agree more, he'll do the community the most service by always pushing the boundaries, not making current tech games.

He's already improved the Rift by leaps and bounds in his first year there.

I like it a ton, it's basically an interactive story with turn based combat resolutions and some RPG elements.

EDIT: This game is fantastic.

So wait. I don't follow this closely, so fill me in. They paid for the Cry Engine just to do mock-ups, and are now going to code their own custom engine for it?

If so, yikes....

They are scrapping the net code that came with it, not rewriting the game engine.

I knew about this a while ago at least last month. They just didn't do a press release.

I don't have trouble steering my car and looking around, I don't expect controlling a FPS to be any different.

They didn't remove the water chip time limit, that wasn't the shitty one. The shitty one was the 500 day limit for the mutant army. You could easily spend that much time wandering around. That's the time limit they removed.

Procedurally generating worlds as complicated as a AAA title like Assassin's Creed or Skyrim would need some sort of advanced AI to make work. Otherwise you're limited to very simple graphics.

I don't think this game is for you....Derek Smart made some shit ass games.

What you are asking for would take an Elder Scrolls budget...no way that ever happens without an explosion in genre popularity.

Yeah, it's obviously been in development for several years now so no chance it's a new engine. It'll probably look and play a lot better but we won't see a new engine until the next game after.

Pete has been on the record that they aren't in search of a new engine. I won't say ever, but he mentioned they'll just add to the current whatever is needed. Personally I feel the engine is now in a very good place stability wise. Performance and looks, I have no problem. Animation... is that the engine or their doing?

Their animation has been pure shit since their inception. I'm willing to bet it's them.

If you think FTL was all about luck...you never mastered the game. There is a luck component for sure, but for people who mastered the game, they can win regularly.

The ending would have worked out much better if Leviathan was included in the base game and the AI didn't take the form of a blue child.
