Have you fed that TV the exact same signal, one 720p and one 1080p? How close are you sitting? The vast majority of HD TV review sites will tell you there is little difference 50" and under. I have also done quite a bit of comparison viewing at stores. The only real benefit is if you can see SDE, the small 1080p pixels basically remove that effect.

It's mostly a moot point tho, most of the newer sets are 1080p anyway. Very few quality 720p sets are being produced. Last years Pioneer was probably one of the last.

Console games are 99% 720p or less.

It's not the resolution so much as the bitrate. Unless you've got over a 50" screen going from 720 to 1080 isn't that big of a deal. Blueray movies do have 3-5x the bitrate of downloaded HD movies, including sound.

I'm a huge Fallout fan but couldn't give two shits about the turn based combat. For me, it was great because of the dialogue, characters, and quests. There is zero chance Bethesda matches them on those three fronts.

EDIT: Now that I think about it, I'd prefer it as a shooter if it matched the originals in those three fronts.

People just won't settle for cheaper but inferior, no matter how many profit dollar signs are in the vendors eyes.

Where the fuck do you live? In the good ol USA cheaper and crappier almost always wins.

My fear is that because it's specifically 360 this time, the timing puzzles will be toned down.

E3 hands on: http://xbox360.ign.com/articles/888/888731p1.html

So the 360 player really liked the rad graphics and combat. Not much mention of anything else.

The rad Oblivion inventory management is back. I'm guessing verbal directions are also out and there will be another kick ass compass or arrow of some sort so I never get lost.

I miss the days when a demo would be a full 3rd of the game. Hell, BF1942 had two maps you could play. I easily put more than ten hours in on that demo and guess what? I bought the game!

In the USA the definitions or "liberal" and "conservative" have been butchered. In this country if you want to limit access to guns you're a "liberal". Yet at the same time if you want to limit access to porn you're a "conservative".

Yeah, I'm sure the giant built in PS3 fanbase has nothing to do with it.

Well you can't change the WoW style armor with a few color tweaks, altho the colors don't bother me much. It's unfortunate that they didn't decide to go with an original art style for Diablo. I would have liked to see something new.

If they're not backwards compatible hopefully the new RB drumset is a large leap over the current trash. I'd be willing to pay extra for a good one.

The best defensive weapons are Hangers with about a 2:1 ratio of fighters to bombers.

This is the truth, turrets are worthless for the most part. If you have a reserve fleet for defense the hangers give them plenty of time to get there.

The Guitar hero drumset looks killer...competition is a good thing. I prefer how Rock band plays over GH, I'll prolly end up buying the GHWT drums and playing Rock Band 2 with them.

Most people don't even have cards capable of doing hardware acceleration, or are so poor at it it's not much more than a 1-2% improvement.

Please explain to me what lowering the hardware acceleration slider will do to their performance?

If anyone goes nuts and decides to buy this game or the creator digitally, don't buy from the EA store. D2D has them and you get unlimited downloading of the game. With the EA store you have to pay an extra 5 bucks just to get two years of storage.

FYI in the US you only get 5 bucks off for preordering, so you're still paying extra.
