I thought MW was pretty bad. I felt invincible in the car and it was just about getting the latest stickers and big fin for the back of your car. It was too "2 Fast 2 Furious" for me.

In the "TV Writers Must Sell, Sell, Sell." article:
"Even if it's for a minute, product placement is intrusive to the story," said Scott Miller, a writer for the reality series American Dream Derby, which aired on the Game Show Network.

I couldn't care less about Starcraft Ghost. I seriously don't know why they haven't made Starcraft 2 yet or announced it. It's an instant mega-seller if they do. I know they will, but it just seems really long between versions for such a huge hit. I suppose it will make it that much sweeter in the end.

Circular Saw |

That must have been one industrial saw. My little one at home can just get through 2 inches of wood at the deepest depth. He's using it on logs? They do kick though if you're not careful (easy to prevent if you pay attention) and that makes them dangerous.

Best line ever:
"There are a lot of people (at these seminars) who believe in aliens, and all these beautiful women who will have sex with you even though you're a dork," he said.
Good stuff.

Simple and effective. Looks good to me. Just put everything on top of a big rocket and parachute back to earth. Back to basics. There's less to go wrong and it has to be cheaper than some of the other plans I've seen (all involving airplane type craft). Aesthetics shouldn't even be a consideration at all.

From the article:
"Hershberger added that trout with three sets of chromosomes do not present a danger to the ecosystem if they get out of the lab because they are sterile."
Hmm, reminds me of something.....
"The complete lack of humility for nature that's being displayed here is staggering."

Bird vs Shuttle |

You can't make this up. From CBS news:
"it was a relatively low-speed collision and while it was no doubt a significant event for the bird, it caused no obvious damage to the shuttle."
Ya think?

So, Viagra makes you go blind. My mom's been telling me that for years.
Also, 'Make My Day' is obviously stagged. He holds on to her as she slams him as if he's helping her along.

That is really annoying I have to admit. It's about $12 to get into the theater here, probably $5-10 for snacks ($5 for a small anything most likely) and then I have to sit through 10 minutes of commercials. Grrr...

I give it five years until EA either owns a majority stake or has outright acquired just about every other major publisher and becomes pretty much the only game in town. Seeing as how EA's crappy sports sequels and Sims games currently have them in the position of being one of the only publishers in the industry to be turning a profit right now. Wait, they make the crappiest games, yet are the only ones turning a profit. Okay then.

I've heard the 4000 limit before. I have also heard that at 4000 anti-aliasing becomes essentially pointless as well. The good news is that we are half way there for computers. I've rev'd mine up to 2000+ and could still see some jaggies, but I'd really have to look.

Ya, I'm aware of that. But, in say 4 years when I actually might have a high definition TV and player, I might want to get some of my collection in HD when they re-release them, but I will try to resist.
DVD -> DVD special editions -> HD-DVD -> HD-DVD special editions.
The madness!

If you're a Ken Jennings fan, you might want to watch Jeopardy tonight.
And, November seems long for Canadians because we have no holidays for about 2 months straight. This comment was edited on Nov 30, 10:47. |

Is this the last format for a while now? I haven't heard of anything beyond HD-DVD, but who knows. Maybe super-HD will be right around the corner. Well, I'm not buying my DVD collection over again that's for sure. And, when they say High Definition, what format are they talking about? 780p, 1080i? So now what? We have blu-ray/HD-DVD/780p/1080i. A standard has to fall out of this. My vote is for HD-DVD/780p. :/
