I actually had to check to see if the Radio Station thing was real. Why not just release it for free as good will to the community you just eff'd over?

FSR2 has been nice for 4k gaming, but I really want a bigger uplift. I've put Starfield on hold until I'm able to hit 60fps consistently on my 6900xt at ultra or high. Baldur's Gate 3 has been a dream... averaging about 100fps at 4k/Ultra with FSR.

I'm just simply confused. Not only on why they think this is a good idea, but on why they think anyone isn't going to abandon any implementation of their engine forthwith... Then again, I don't know the market. Is Unity in a dominant position? Are devs going to be forced to use Unity even if they don't like this because there isn't another viable choice?
Many Indie devs can switch to Godot, but like everything, there's a learning curve and can't be done over night.

Affected indie devs should consider moving future work to another Engine. IMO Godot is better for 2d dev and quickly catching up on the 3d end.

Unless LTT started it with criticism of GN (please tell me if this is the case) then screw LTT.
There were some veiled comments by LTT calling GN out on some stuff. Nothing crazy, but I'm sure it pissed GN off.

Linus has always been the way GN depicted him... it's unflattering and 100% true. I have dozens of issues with Linus and none of them came up in the GN video. LTT is a scourge, they have too much influence for the manure they peddle. They finally got called out for harming a small company with sketchy data.

Just read Linus' response... it's oozes with hubris- this guy is not going to change. I don't mind just ignoring LTT, but it still sucks how much reach they have.

Inasmuch as I'd like to see a modern Middle-Earth MMO (because LOTRO is getting pretty darned ancient), I'm not exactly filled with hope or enthusiasm for this given Amazon's track record so far.

Besides being the publisher, what exactly has Amazon done badly?
For starters, I have no clue what is going on...

So is this game permanently staying exclusive to Epic? Sad, I've been playing this series since GalCiv 1.

Bold interpretation.
A pity you weren't there to ask him to ellucidate, and maybe be educated, or you educating the attendees.
I mean, you can't even play a 1080p video on a Pi. It's possible he's using one of the variant boards that's a bit more powerful, but they aren't all that practical as a daily driver either.

"I've invested a zillion years in Apple, I'm throwing it away, and I'm going to Linux. To Raspbian, in particular."

That's a weird sequence of operating system choices... Although macOS is *nix compliant, it's not something I would think the creator of Unix would use. And then to move from that expensive, high-end hardware to... a Raspberry Pi? That's some really strange choices.

My linux system is built modularly and doesn't even use a desktop environment. It's incredible what you can do in that ecosystem now, it's all about choices. I guess I'm just surprised that this guy seems ignorant to the current state of things in the OSS world.

Trip Hawkins is the Richard Garriott of "game business management". Both of them were amazing in their day, but neither have anything of value to offer today. Anyone pushing blockchain tech can shove it, it's a scourge that needs to die quickly.

I have no real opinion about this game, but it does look like one of typical "survival" steam releases that gets huge initial momentum, then peters off really quick and is ultimately abandoned in an unsatisfying, bug ridden state a year or two later. Worth a Buy review pretty much sums it up... looks good, has potential, you might find it fun, but it's a buggy mess and may not get finished to your satisfaction.

It's possible that the new cards need a separate driver branch because of the new chiplet design. I use the radv linux drivers for my 6900xt and regularly get updates that improve my card.
