I wonder if this thread has broken any records at Blues for the most post count.

Nope, 120 more posts to break into the top 10. Whenever you search for something using the "Search!" box, the popular threads listing shows all time threads, rather than popular this week.

I do find it odd that you have a lock that requires a key to be used from the inside.

It's probably a New York thing to prevent being able to break a pane of glass in the door and reach in and unlock it, though if you are willing to break glass to get in you could always use a window. This certainly seems like overkill for us, as this is not a high crime area at all, and I'm guessing it is also possibly a building code violation as a fire hazard, which is one of the reasons I like to keep my keys in the lock (which completely eliminates the crime prevention aspect too). If I ever change that lock again I'll probably get one with a knob on the inside.

Forgive me for pointing this out, but when Mrs. Blue opened the door she would have seen one set of keys (hers) on the outside and a second set (yours) on the inside. I think seeing two sets of keys in the door would have most people thinking something was wrong and be extra cautious and figure out what was wrong i.e. that you had left your set of keys on the inside.

It sounds like you are over-thinking this. She unlocked the door to let herself in, and probably had stuff to put down, went back to the door and absent-mindedly locked it with my keys thinking they were hers. As I say, absent-minded, not conscious (though I can't even completely decipher the rest of the theory you present).

Why on earth are you still on Vista?

It's what the machine came with, and it wasn't causing any problems, so I didn't feel any burning need to upgrade, so that's what the restore function restores. As I say, if I realized how long it would all take, I would have done a Windows 7 upgrade.

How long the restore will take is still not clear, as I'm still installing Windows updates. Yeesh.

Archer is probably my favorite TV show of the 2000s. I've probably watched 2010's first season about 8 times already. I'm not exaggerating.

Probably The Wire or Breaking Bad for me

All three of those are probably in my top 10. But don't forget Deadwood and Mad Men.

Just curious, isn't the fact that the video is on youtube mean there really isn't a age gate besides sites linking to it?

I honestly have no idea how that's supposed to work, so I'm just doing my best to comply, and hoping it's not a problem.

I guess your Latin beef means you have a problem with the age gate? I agree it's silly, but it's an ESRB requirement, and asking you to type in eight digits is the difference between being able to embed the video here or not.

So just out of curiosity, how does the ESRB tie into your personal web site? If you mirror it, you have to abide by their terms?

Just wondering, and been meaning to ask for awhile now...

No genius, cold air condenses. That's why you want to make sure your tires are properly inflated, especially in the winter!

Where do they find these people?????

I think he knew that full well. That was staged, and he was just playing straight man. Why they thought this needed to be illustrated by him seeming not to grasp an obvious point is beyond me, however.

Cool vid though. However, I'd be nervous sticking my face so near a vat of liquid nitrogen (which inherently makes the point in and of itself, btw), even without jamming a balloon into it. If the balloon did happen to burst, it would have been that much more of an interesting clip, albeit a gruesome one.

Dogs, on the other hand, are much more adaptable. They love meat and it makes them happy and healthy to eat it. But while switching them to a balanced vegetarian diet would ruin their day, it wouldn't kill them. In fact the only side-effect of a balanced vegetarian diet in dogs is usually gas - they fart like hell. :)

I see how it could seem like I'm saying dogs are obligate carnivores, which was not my intention. It is true that dogs can adapt to non-meat diets, but they are still usually classified as carnivores, and I was expressing the opinion that a raw meat diet is what's best for them in terms of both happiness and healthiness. Given the choice between a vegetarian diet and by-product laden supermarket kibble, on the other hand, I'd probably go with the veggies.

sauron (I'm a DVM irl).

In that case I commend you for not coming down against my BARF* proselytization, as many vets seem to be pretty negative about that, though this has changed over the past several years.

* Bones and raw food - I'm sure you know, but others might not.

Do you give them the complete one or mix in stuff yourself?

For breakfast they get the blends. Those combine meat, bones, organs, and some pulverized veggies to replicate the stomach content that carnivores go for first when they kill their own prey.

For dinner they get chicken wings. This surprises people who are conditioned to think that the bones will splinter, but that's when they are cooked. When the wings are raw the bones are softer, and they are able to chew them up quite nicely, which is good for cleaning their teeth. It's quite an impressive site, and Gunnar-man could down three wings in under a minute if I didn't make him wait for Hudson, who is more methodical.

Blue Buffalo Dog Food? Have you heard of this, Blue? Blue dog food for Blue's pooches?!

I hadn't heard of it before. Some of it doesn't look too terrible, but the fact that they have grain-free varieties of their canned food brings up the question of why there's grain in their others. They also sell kibble, which I am dead set against. Cool name though, and they have an awesome Airedale photo on their compare to other products page.

Dogs are carnivores, and their diets should be primarily meat, preferably raw. As noted here before, this is what Hudson and Gunnar eat, and I heartily recommend it:
