In the words of Hudson, "I am ready! Ready to get it on!" You punks ready for a Green Bay repeat this year? I know I sure am, hahaha!

Even with last year's Super Bowl win, since you say the Pack will take it all ever year, your track-record on such predictions is already not so great. But I have a little more rain for your projected victory parade:

Historically, there's more than a 50% greater chance that the Pack will watch the playoffs on TV with the rest of us than they will win back-to-back titles like they did in the Lombardi days:

  • Number of repeat Super Bowl winners in NFL history: 8.

  • Number of Super Bowl winners who failed to even make the playoffs the next season: 13(!).

  • But it gets worse: No Super Bowl winner has ever even made the playoffs the season after an NFL work stoppage. The three such teams (one of them being the Giants) had a combined record of 15 wins and 25 losses.

As they say in stock ads, previous results are no guarantee of future performance, but you are certainly swimming against the tide.

Heh, I noticed women hate the AC like my mom, my friend's mom, etc. They always say too cold (not even hot to them) and too expensive. Blue, I am also upstair and it goes up to 90F degrees during the heat waves. How hot is it in in your office room? :(

My office is the finished attic... I have never experimented, but I would bet anything that without AC it would have reached the 120s up here every day last week.

How do the dogs feel? Do they vote for AC too?

I would say they do. This is my best argument for getting another AC unit, but so far has not helped. It's worse for Gunnar-man, but after I gave him a haircut last week and he's been much more comfortable, so while I'm happy for him, I didn't help my cause.

We've been divorced from UGO for a long time now, so it's doubtful this is coming from them, but I'm having a tough time understanding what you're describing... why do you need to hit f5, is it some sort of pop-up?

Haha, 12,731. So applying this "American Formula" that means we have about 193 psychos in the mix.

Wow, didn't see that story at first. Yeah, I was just near Borough Park (or Boro Park) a couple of weeks ago when we took my step-grandma out to lunch. It is almost entirely Orthodox there, and one of those places where people have always felt safe day or night. It's about the last place in New York you would expect such a thing to happen.

Removing the time limit on trials is far from going "Free to Play", this is the definition of a sensationalist headline.

    Please justify that criticism.

Free-to-play (F2P) refers to any game that has an option of allowing its players to play without paying. Some of these games have both a free version and a Pay to Play version that offers the full version of the game and all of the updates. Free-to-play games with pay-to-play components utilize the freebie marketing technique to draw in a user base with this advanced type of game demo. The term "free-to-play" is frequently heard in the context of massively multiplayer online games (MMOGs).

Blue! C'mon, I still use your texas-style chili recipe frequently; you're going to tease us with grilled buffalo wings and not share the recipe?

    No fair!

Not trying to tease, it's just so simple i barely qualifies as a recipe.

Cut the tips off some chicken wings and feed them to the dogs. Separate the rest of the wings into their two parts, the double bone and the "drummette." Boil them in beer for 15-30 minutes then grill them over medium heat, turning frequently. When the skin is browned and crispy, set them aside and let them cool a bit. Heat some Frank's Red Hot sauce and butter until the butter melts (tradition calls for a 50:50 hot sauce to butter ratio, but mine is more like 90:10), and toss the chicken in it until it's coated properly. Serve with celery and blue cheese dressing.

Couldn't be easier, or more delicious. Chef

But that said, FF5 is just FF 4.02 really why they felt the need to bump a whole 99 revisions up is a mystery, and fairly dumb.. but not really relevant. Its a security update for FF 4.01 and thus "not installing it" is not an option.

I'm guessing that browser revision numbers have recently become a "whose is bigger" contest, and they are playing catch up. Chrome is up to version 13.0.782.32 beta-m, and this is just to fight the perception for casual users that Firefox is falling behind.

I was thinking something similar when I dug up my QUAKE CD and I recalled how I got it autographed at that QuakeWorld event in SoHo. Sure enough, it's signed by Carmack, Romero, and *scribble*. The last is probably American McGee by the looks of it, but I can't be sure. Not sure why I didn't get it signed by the other guys. Anyway, it is indeed hard to believe that will have been 15 years ago this September.

How does that leave your steak cooked Blue? Well done? Medium?

They were a bit past medium rare. This was a perfect compromise, as I like mine medium rare, but MrsBlue prefers medium. I could have done one each way, but this way we split them both: One fresh off the grill, and the other as a leftover.

Did you all skip that part?

Nah, I went for it. I had already given a couple of strong "no" answers in the assessment of my menu choices, saying I didn't want seafood and organ meat dishes, so I'd have felt a little too picky to pass on bacon, though if it was pecker bacon or something similar I certainly wouldn't have tried it.

    Happy b-day, Mrs. B.

BTW, we never did get to hear how those steaks were, Blue.

    Ah. forgot to follow up.

I let them come to room temperature, covered them in kosher salt and cracked pepper, and cooked them four minutes a side on a grill as hot as I could get it. I put a bit of olive oil on them and let them rest in a foil tent.

The zucchini I was making as a side was just so-so, but the steaks were absolutely perfect, which certainly beats the reverse.
