Was this an MMO of sorts, with a monthly fee? Or was the Starter Pack all you ever had to pay for? I care so little for online racing games that I never really bothered to check it out.

No subs: Its business model was those starter packs and microtransactions. Now it's just the latter.

"use of tobacco" as a warning? God are we that fucking dumb to not know this already and do we really need a warning?

"Warning, shooting gun in head could kill you."
"Warning, jumping off cliff may be lethal."

Fucking America is so over the top these days.

I don't disagree that the current state of safety warnings is extreme, but I'm not sure that tobacco warnings are a real example of that.

You say "these days," but the first Surgeon General's warning on cigarette packs was in 1966, so this is not a recent phenomenon. As for "America," pick a country at random and see if it's not on the list in this article: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tobacco_packaging_warning_messages

Even central European states like Russia and the Czech Republic where kids are practically born smoking have warnings on tobacco products.

While Sporting News Today officially picked the New York Jets over the Dallas Cowboys in Super Bowl 45

I really like Rex and the Jets, but in the NFL QBs are key to championships, and Sanchez is not seasoned enough to win a Super Bowl, and the doubts about Romo's ability to win playoff games are well-documented.

Ask Jimmy the Greek about picking the Jets to win it all (well, he's dead, but you know what I mean). Only one person has cashed in on that gamble in 45 years, and unless Joe Willie laces them up and plays, I don't think that it'll happen this year either. I think the picks of the NFL panel are much more easily justified.

The New McDonalds Angus burger is surprisingly damned good.

I tried one of those a couple of months ago, which was the first McDonald's I've had in years. Personally, I thought it was terrible: The addition of more beef and the removal of "special sauce" type stuff only served to highlight the taste of the meat, which was gamey and overcooked. Blech.

i don't really think the fact that blue deigned to respond to it constitutes him "being trolled".

Giving a serious response to someone who is just trying to cause mischief does constitute being trolled. In fact, it's second only to getting angry and flaming the guy in the ranking of how hard someone bites on a given troll attempt.

Call that giving him an opportunity to prove he's not a troll, since the next time he lobs one of his whine grenades into a thread and runs off he's probably going to get banned.

That's where these arguments lose me, when people play the

The bill of rights does not equivocate, and it seems pretty obvious that they spent a fair bit of time working on its wording. I'll reluctantly agree that we should obey the "it's not your right to yell fire in a crowded movie house" argument, but a puritanical approach to interpreting our rights irks me.

Do the dogs eat spiders?

I've never seen it, but the answer is probably. Hudson the wonder dog's war on bees often involves spitting them out and eating them off the ground, so it's in her playbook, and the Gunnar-man is an appetite with legs, so they are both likely to try and eat something that crawls by.

So yes, there's a reasonable chance that this spider has already been digested by a larger predator.

September! Where the fuck has 2010 gone?

I hear you... And I hate September in general. I never liked it since childhood between school resuming and summer ending, and then my mom died in September, which makes this a depressing time of year for me.

It's like the song: "Wake me up when September ends."

Limited supply of a digital download?! Really? Run out of electrons to make more data bits? There's nothing like artificial scarcity to drive demand and to prop up inflated prices. EVGA open up your wallet and put a game code in every box with the card and be done with it.

I don't want to spoil a good rant here, but it should be pointed out that they are not putting codes in any boxes, they are retroactively handing out codes to people who already bought their cards. It's not a limited supply of bits, just a limited supply of activation codes that they had to pay for.

Yeah, I'll wait until this is 2 bucks on Steam, thanks. PS3 users got this for free with their game, apparently.

That's not actually the case. This is from the prior story about Mafia II DLC that's linked in this story:

One pack is called The Betrayal of Jimmy which will be a PS3 launch-day exclusive. The other is called Jimmy’s Vendetta, which will be released at some point after for Windows, Xbox 360, and PlayStation 3.
