Well, American football is cool if you like wearing armor, but the US rugby team has made it all the way to the Rugby World Cup 2011 in New Zealand that starts on 09/09/2011. I wish them all the best as they aren't wearing helmets and kevlar ;)

I realize you are joshing, but the fact is the padding makes American football *far* more dangerous than most other sports, including Rugby. A quick bit of research on the infallible internet says that from 1930-2006 there were "1,006 direct and 683 indirect fatalities resulting from participation in all organized football"
( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Health_issues_in_American_football ), while "In the 110 years that rugby has been played, there has [sic] been only 71 recorded deaths in the sport" ( http://wiki.answers.com/Q/How_many_deaths_have_there_been_playing_rugby ).

This is nothing for a football fan to be proud of, but I hear this stuff about pads making the game so safe, but the fact is they promote collisions that are far more violent than if the players were unpadded.

Seriously. God bless 'em, they are reslly starting to be competitive in a non-primary american sport and we love seeing 'em play in this tournament. Please support your team

I am glad you brought this up, as I have not seen it reported anywhere... I will try and find a way to root them on.

Gotta admit.. I dislike seeing Blue's dip into tabloid headlines, but whatever.

I'm always interested in opinions on editorial policy. First I'll assume by headlines, you mean the story itself, as

"Dead Island Maker Gives Leading Lady A 'Feminist Whore' Skill"

Seems pretty tabloid, but

"Dead Island 'Private Joke' Goes Public"

Does not, though maybe I'm not objective.

Presuming I'm correct about that, does that mean in your opinion I should have ignored this altogether?

Hey Blue, why don't you start a website that actually contributes something to humanity? Fuck your candy shop.

Upset that your first troll was ignored? This is pretty weak sauce, but if you really want to be banned just say so. They will write poems about you when you're martyred.

Is it really necessary to use examples of potentially offensive terms to discuss this topic? I don't want to sweep through this thread and delete half the posts, so please stop. Immediately.

Lets just pretend that sort of language is against the rules here, since it actually is, okay?

Thanks.

Unfortunately you may get a shot to play on the Big Blue's defense this year the way things are going.

I know... I don't think I've ever heard of so many season-ending injuries before the season even started.

Jonathan Goff hurt a lot, but losing Terrell Thomas was a killer.

I'm fuzzy on the whole "good/bad" thing.

A patch is set to be pushed out to North American PC version owners today. Destructoid received a list of fixes that would be in the day one patch for the game and here’s everything you can expect

What was wrong with how this was reported in the story you are commenting on?

I thought dogs couldn't eat chicken with bones because the hollow bones splinter?

The bones are actually relatively soft, and only become brittle when they are cooked. They crunch away quite happily on the raw wings.

Are all your dogs having stomach problems or just the one still? If he/she is still bad you might have to consider a vet if its been quite a while since you started a bland rice diet.

Gunnar-man had a bout last weekend, and Hudson the wonder dog started up around the time Gunnar stopped. I've kept in touch with the vet, and she doesn't feel there's cause for alarm unless Hudson's problems last a couple more days.

Hey Blue, why the [sic] in the quote? There's nothing grammatically wrong with that paragraph. Or do you do that for every quote?

"There's too many..."

Not using the contraction, that expands to: "There is too many..."

It should be "There are too many..."

So yeah, my google search is totally unfunny, i blame google.

It really does not include one of those "Did you mean...?" suggestions above the results?

I categorically refuse to watch any video on Youtube - or anywhere else for that matter - where I'm forced to watch a commcerical first.

It's a Ubisoft thing. YouTube automatically adds pre-roll ads to any of their videos as soon as I upload them. Thankfully they can be skipped after five seconds.
