Trying to avoid spoilers, and only 3-4 links down, you've got a post to a leaked ME3 video? Seems a bit inconsistent.

Which has a spoiler warning, and no one is making you watch.

What's up today, are you guys trolling me?

It's official, Steam forums were hacked, Eurogamer and PC gamer amongst others are reporting it now.

It's interesting to see that you consider it "official" based on those reports, as they are based on *exactly* the same information as ours is.

I'm also fascinated by their decision to post screenshots showing the URL the hack was allegedly pointing to. Seems to fall into the "more harm than good" category.

Off-topic, but since I trust you guys more than the random forum poster...

What're your thoughts on the various laptop brands?

I'm looking for something
A) Stable
B) Fairly speedy (i7 Quad)
C) SOLID CONSTRUCTION

I don't need ruggedized drop-proof construction, but something that feels solid (chassis and keyboard). Which ones do you guys recommend?

I was thinking Alienware, Dell, or (gasp) maybe a MacBook Pro.

My last laptop was a 2007 MacBook Pro, prior to that was a 1999/2000 Dell Inspiron.

We got MrsBlue a new laptop a coupe of years ago that I'm very impressed with. It's a Toshiba, and it hasn't given her a lick of trouble. It also seems quite solid, as evidenced by the time the Gunnar-man caught his tail on the power cord, panicked, and ran off, dropping it to the floor from table height, which seemed to effect it not in the least.

You can't keep track of the time. What's the sense? I'll give you an example. There's a moment coming. Not here yet. Still on the way. In the future. Hasn't arrived. Here it comes. Here it is. Oh shit it's gone.

There is no now. There is only near-future or recent past. There is no present. Whoosh...gone. NOW. When, just then? No now. What, now or when you asked me?

R.I.P. George Carlin. You are missed.

...now Im wondering if they'r here to stay?
Oh I believe in yesterday....

Suddenly....all the things are not like they used to be...
Theres a shadow hangin over me....

Awwww shit, cant remember the rest of the lyrics.

I have quite a flaky memory, but song lyrics stick like glue. This is off the top of my head:

Yesterday
All my troubles seemed so far away
Now it looks as though they're here to stay
Oh I believe in yesterday

Suddenly
There's a shadow hanging over me
I'm not half the man I used to be
Oh yesterday, came suddenly

Why she had to go
I don't know
She wouldn't say
I said something wrong now I long for yesterday

Yesterday
Love was such an easy game to play
Now I need a place to hide away
Oh I believe in yesterday

Mmmm... yesterday.

So the reason you are not an evil shopping cart dropper is because you never played a GTA game? I've played GTAs... I wonder how I escaped this fate?

Too bad we can't turn back the clock to the time before video games when nobody did any evil.

Having such a simple world-view may offer you some comfort, but your outrage has little or nothing to do with reality.

P.S., Your poo-pooing the game's rating is also silly. Do you really mean to say that we should eliminate all forms of entertainment from society that are not designed for children? Gosh, there are forms of entertainment for children that are not suitable for babies, so I guess all games, TV shows, movies, etc., should be written for infants? Sweet.

There is no nutritional valve in sugar.

Having seen the impact of sugar on kids' behavior (in spite of what studies say to the contrary) makes me agree that there is a downside to giving them free access to sweets.

However, not to be a pedant, I must point out that there is indeed "nutritional value" in sugar, which is a carbohydrate, and will absolutely keep you from starving if necessary. I'm not saying it's good for you, but I see that line about " no nutritional value" all the time, and it bugs me a little.

Nothing removed in deception, since none of the material removed changes the crux of the comment. That you would remove attempts to take the thread down a religious path, even though the first statement was about the irony of removing comments when referencing free speech. Somewhat ironic I thought.

I did not discuss the "irony" of deleting posts, but of locking the entire thread. I did say I would remove posts that tried to turn this into an argument over religion, since that is both far afield of the original topic and a rather touchy topic for a gaming site.

The purpose of these forums is to foster discussion of the topics at hand for everyone's enjoyment. The purpose of moderation is to avoid the discussions becoming acrimonious.

Wow. Did you think that comment through?

Meaning what? That my comment makes less sens if you remove a handful of words?

And with that here comes the R&P debate, that doesn't belong on a gaming site.

Just lock the thread now Blue, I'm sure it will not take long for this topic discussion to go from games centric to Religion & Politics.

Well it would be unfortunate to have to lock a thread about the implications of free speech... if irony was inflammable we might start a fire. I agree though, that there's no need for this to get into a religious debate, so having responded to that post, I'll most likely delete future attempts to take this thread down that path.

Ohhh yes, we cannot disagree with people's views anymore and get away with it. You know what, I am a Christian, we get bashed a lot as well. Yup, but I would not call it hate speech. For example, if someone kills a christian, they should be charged for murder. We start adding all this other bs to the mix and you will see homosexuals getting locked up for speaking their mind against Christians. I am not for hate speech regulation because guess who defines what hate speech is? You guessed it...the government and states...What exactly is hate speech? The bible and nature says homosexuality is wrong...Does that mean I cannot believe and have religious freedoms any longer? I am all for everyone being able to speak their mind. That includes the Christian, the muslim, etc...

So this inspired you to pen an impassioned response in favor of hate speech? Interesting.

For the record, they have not actually locked up anyone for the opinions they expressed there, so you can cancel the order for a phony passport, they're probably not coming after you either. And no one mentioned any "regulation," the band member expressed his thoughts on this topic, as has GLAAD. Since you seem to be all for free speech, you should be pleased as punch at how this all worked out.

I hate people that stand at a concert with seats.

As I mentioned before, we were literally in the front row. So it was not going to improve our view at all to stand, and if we did, we'd have had to constantly be checking behind us to make sure we weren't blocking the people behind us.
