There is actually a 'Pirate Bar' in my neighborhood on my way home where all employees are required to speak and dress like pirates.

I normally steer clear, since it's definitely one of those "go once and never again" type places, but I'm tempted to stop by tonight.

All I can picture is the place where Judge Reinhold got his new job after getting fired in Fast Times at Ridgemont High

"Hamilton, you're going over there as a representative of Captain Hook Fish and Chips. Part of our image, part of our appeal is that uniform, you know that."

I just wonder how many wins it needs to be until they're taken seriously. You go to any football coverage site after an amazing Lions win expecting to see some info and it's a tiny lonesome blurb at the bottom, "Lions might not be shitty afterall." I guess we just don't have the market or something.

I think you are just being a little impatient. If they continue to win, they will get their due, but the number of wins required to get to that point is likely > 2. Especially for a team that's last playoff appearance (with a .500 record) was in the 20th century, is only one of four teams in the league that has never made a Super Bowl appearance, and hasn't had double-digits in wins since 1995. I'm not trying to crap on them, just offering a little perspective on why people are not jumping on their bandwagon at 2-0 (yes, I know they won out their last four last year, but that made for a six win season, which, likewise, doesn't turn a lot of heads).

Anyway, they seem to be a team on the rise, and I don't think anyone would have expected that so soon after the conclusion of the Matt Millen error, err, era.

Considering they were 4-0 in the preseason of 2008 when they went on to an 0-16 season.

Come on...

What's next? "As long as Stafford stays healthy..."

In a QB driven league, yes, of course. Is your counter-argument to obvious facts really that they're too obvious?

Anyway, watching tonight's game, if the Eagles and the Falcons are the elite of the NFC, then the door is open for the Lions to be the best in the conference soon, because this is some of the sloppiest most undisciplined "elite" football I've seen in a long time.

And I like the take on superhero names where the shaved head is "nude," though I'm not thinking Marvel or DC will be picking up the Nude Router series any time soon. Maybe Cinemax, though.

My first was a 20 meg Seagate MFM hardrive in my old IBM XT.. That thing had a cool sound when it ran.

Same here, only mine had a sexy RLL controller, so it was 30 MB. And you could time drive access with an hourglass.

Pre-season means zip.

Oh predictable response.
Sorry, excuse me, 6 game win streak.

Considering they were 4-0 in the preseason of 2008 when they went on to an 0-16 season, I think the response is predictable because it's accurate.

But they really have been looking great lately.

There were lots of doggies there, but we left the dynamic duo home today. Maybe next time.

My top 3 fav Krieger quotes

- Your authority is not recognized in Fort KickAss

Easily the best Krieger quote... On the short list for best quotes from the show.

- And *I* love that I have an erection

Even better in full:

And *I* love that I have an erection... that doesn't involve homeless people.

If by flopped you mean flipped Blue. Various companies have computer software that scans video websites and compares the video to their catalog. By mirroring the image, it tricks the software and avoids copyright infringement detection.

By flopped I meant flopped.

Interesting about the copyright part, though.

OK guys. Seriously, it's canon. One 'n'.

And remember that Frank Cannon carried a snub-nosed revolver. I hate when people violate Cannon cannon canon.

Eh, Up All Night is funnier if you have young kids. If you don't have kids or can't remember when you were young, I can see how it'd be terrible.

True we have no kids, but since my mental age is easily about a quarter of my physical age, I have little problem remembering when I was young. And I was quite prepared for not being able to completely relate to a show about people dealing with a newborn, I just thought the show was almost completely missing actual humor.

I realized I left out the name of the other show, so I've helped the situation by adding words.

I like the writing and voice acting in Archer, but I have a hard time getting past the super low-budget animation.

I think it's intentional, and to me it's part of its charm, as it evokes the animation style of the 60s, which is clearly one of time periods contributing to the show's oddball mix of old and new. Reminds me a lot of Johnny Quest.

Thought I'm also sure you're right that it also helps keep costs down.

Really looking forward to the sequel. I do wonder what the payment system will be.

its free-to-play... apparently thats the new hotness for MMOs

I believe the reports that said that were based on an iffy translation, and that this hasn't been confirmed. It will probably end up F2P, as the follow-up to that involved expressing admiration for the League of Legends model, but AFAIK, this is speculation at this point.

Frans has been very busy lately, so we haven't discussed it yet. However, since one of the things he's been busy with was the TrackMania 2 beta, it seems like a good bet.

I'm not trying to scare you, I'm just making it clear that if you insist on continuing to bait people with personal insults you will be banned. If you are saying you don't care about that, which your posts seem to support, that's fine. I just feel like someone who's been posting here for over six years deserves a warning before that happens.
