And have you thought about travel with the dogs, Blue? I don't mean to alarm you, but all the horror stories of the past few years of pets and airlines has convinced me that if I had to move, I'd have to transport the animals myself via car. But doing that from NY to CA seems like a monumental task.

We are up in the air about a lot of this, but one thing we decided at the very outset is if we move, we will drive across country with the dogs. Hudson the wonder dog is not afraid of any beast on this earth, but she gets nervous about strange sounds, is never forced to be in a crate, and has noticeable separation anxiety. She's also pushing 12 years old, and has a heart murmur, and I'm fairly convinced she would not survive a plane trip even if everything went perfectly.

If nothing else, that will certainly make for an odd week of updates.

Oh, apologies if you didn't want the location revealed!

No worries... I tend to over-share, so I would have mentioned it. As much as anything, I avoided too much detail because I was mentioning this here before we'd even had the chance to break it to some friends and family.

Any chance she can move from the Glendale group to the NYC group?

Haha, I guess you are familiar with the situation. No, it seems the three offers they were doling out were Glendale, Manhattan, and the unemployment line. Much to Disney's credit, the last group was by far the smallest, but there's no indication that there is an option for anyone to choose between NYC and LA, so there we are.

Blue,
I posted about that series of ads from cdn.adexcite.com 3 days ago in OOB. Would it be better to email you about it when I spot this kinda thing again?

I guess so, yeah. Hopefully it won't come up, but if it does, please do shoot me a mail.

did you know that generalizing and absolutism are the hallmarks of dumbassery?

Seems like you have an infinite loop of self-deprecating tautology going there.

Anyway, posting nothing but messages expressing contempt for the intellectual capacity of your peers is the hallmark of someone who doesn't want to post here anymore. After all these years I think your message has come across, so this is the last time I'll request that you stop attempting to "elevate" the conversation in this manner.

Not a 'Titanorak', Blue?

Obviously not... is that the actual term?

A lot of people are, and not because of James Cameron's 'epic'. I've been reading about it for over 30 years - it's a hell of a story, not just about a ship that sinks. My 2 cents anyway

I'm always fascinated by the depth of hobbies and other pursuits that were previously unfamiliar. Can you quickly explain what exactly is so fascinating about the story?

Silent magician Teller files copyright suit over "stolen" shadow trick.

Gonna be a bitch when Teller is called to testify!

Seen their show in Vegas twice, and it was great. And both times after the show, they came out and shook hands, did autographs, and hung out with folks. Really nice guys.

My sister talked to Teller and said "He has a very soft voice." :)

They've always done that: I saw them outside after their show on Broadway years and years ago. Though to be fair, it's not so much that they come out after the show and just sign autographs: They have the show conclude in a manner that allows them to be outside the theater to personally sell souvenirs to the departing audience. It's so blatant, it's actually charming.

And I love the fact that Teller doesn't shy away from speaking when not in the act... I would be kind of stupid for it to be one of those deals where people were sneaking around trying to "catch" him talking.

Poor Blue. It's OK. At least you gave us a warning about your sickness. Are you better now? Flu is really late this season and MANY people are sick!
Thanks, yeah, I'm feeling so much better I'm just pretending I'm well. Denial is the best medicine.

Sorry, simply an error, one that may seem surprising, but I've always had to consciously not get that backwards.

Not sure how it would be interpreted as an insult, however. Seems to me you are being a little sensitive.

Anyway, apologies for the stupid mistake.

Wargaming.net sends us their announcements directly. That was the one I mentioned in OotB that made me think they had lost their minds at first.

I don't recall you ever mentioning the make/model before but you could always solicit recommendations of what to check. :-)

Does it crank at least?

Well, it's not too big a mystery. It's an '01 Corvette and it seems like my column lock bypass may be failing, because I get a "service column lock" message, and a request to remove the key and wait 10 seconds, but that does not clear the message. The battery is low and needed a jump to start, but it kept stalling after displaying that message, and eventually exhausted my jumper box from restarting.

It's a convertible that lives outside and the electricals are a little flaky from exposure to the elements: I have a good local mechanic, and besides straightening this issue out, I think I need to ask him to see if he can track down a short, since he can actually be trusted to do that and A) properly diagnose the problem, and B) not rob me blind.

White Castle started using smaller burgers so they could cook more of them, faster.

smaller and with holes on the patty so they dont have to flip them over to cook the other side.

They don't flip them? I know the holes help steam pass through and sog up the bun, which is apparently part of the appeal (as a big fan of good hamburgers, I'm not a big fan of White Castle). Didn't know they don't flip them either.

And yes, the idea that a slider might serve as a gateway drug for hamburgers for my niece was in part based on the altered ratio of inside to outside meat, and the natural attraction kids have to small food.

I see the way I wrote it can sound like a challenge for you to guess, but I did mean as a mystery for people who tasted it.
