That's actually not true. Germany does not have an anti-corruption law (ie, corruption is literally not illegal). It's been slammed for that time and time again by the EU and by several political parties. We are the only country in the EU without one.

Why do you think EX-Chancellor Kohl is not in jail? There is proof that he accepted bribes, turns out that's not illegal in Germany.

INAL, but this sounded odd, and a quick Google turned up results suggesting this is not the case, here's an example .

Quote:

Unsurprisingly, corruption is a criminal offense in Germany. German public officials may not accept gifts or rewards. Germany, in fact, has enacted numerous laws and international treaties to combat active and passive bribery. (Generally, “active bribery” refers to offering or paying a bribe, while “passive bribery” refers to receiving a bribe.) In contrast to the United States’ Foreign Corrupt Practices
Act (FCPA), which does not outlaw the receipt of a bribe, German law specifies that accepting or granting an advantage and offering or receiving a bribe are all punishable.

XKCD's mouse over text sums up Fight Club pretty well IMHO. I was blown away by the slick style and vaguely Anonymous style anarchy. Now, it seems rather silly and has plot holes large enough to host underground boxing matches in.

Wow, is it that bad? I have intentionally not watched it in years, wanting to maximize the impact of seeing it again, but now I'm worried I will be similarly disappointed. I guess my next viewing will be soon so I can know, and I can specifically see if I can find a satisfactory answer to your questions while I'm at it.

hey Blue,
Did you wrap the baby backs in foil for half the last 3 hours? We did this just recently and the ribs were super moist!
thanks
MEAHT

Just of the last hour, but they came out pretty moist anyway. I didn't do like the competition BBQers and throw butter and brown sugar in there, just wrapped them.

The better question is, since when did a cell phone become something that you must have sitting next to your bed when you sleep?

When you use it as an alarm clock.

As smart as they're supposed to be, I'm surprised he didn't recognize her trying to help. Maybe he just wanted a break between pullings...

I think for all his objecting, he did, which is why he was hanging around with those people rather than trying to depart the scene.

We've not had a 7/11 here in decades...no slurpees...

I grew up in Brooklyn, where there we none to be found. I remember being jealous visiting friends on Long Island (weird New York thing there: no one says "in Long Island" the way you would say "in Manhattan") when I saw my first big gulp. But there's one near here, and I have to say, the once or twice we've had Slurpees on really hot days justifies that jealousy. I'm surprised I haven't tried this more considering how favorably I recall the experience.

Since they were founded in 1997, I'm going to guess no.

Yeah, that kind of screws up my view of the page. Damn horizontal scroll for a start. I'd rather these videos didn't appear on the front page.

Was an error. Sorry.

How the hell do they figure that mods would leech DLC sales? That's stupid...

That's just my thought on the topic, not anything anyone has said. I just think at this point they'd rather make Battlefield 2 than support Desert Combat, to look at it through the lens of history.

For the future, can I ask that book spoilers be made further distinct from show spoilers? That sort of ruined my day, even if it was my fault for reading it.

I said SPOILER and I put it in secret text. I'm not really sure what else to do?

Creston

Maybe (Show spoiler) vs. (Book spoiler)?

Yeah, I was thinking something like that. Anyway, as I say, it was my fault. Especially since there was nothing from the show involving him that would have warranted the spoiler warning.

Hospitals Struggle to Get Workers to Wash Their Hands

She told us at dinner the other night she would have to wash her hands every 5 minutes if she went by literal hospital policy.

Care to share the name of her hospital so I'll know to avoid it?

I'd prefer a place where they followed the standards set forth for sanitation, rather than their own judgment.

Really enjoying the game and at 15.00 you really cant go wrong. It has a really cool historic aspect mini game that is very interesting. You find these cards in the game and it gives you true facts about a particular event or person in the old west. Overall I'm really enjoying it. Reminds me of "Outlaws" a bit.

Outlaws was a fantastic game that never got the widespread appreciation and admiration it deserved. And, as has been noted, Outlaws' soundtrack is amazing.

If I made a top 10 list of favorite all-time games, Outlaws would be ranked very high. If I made a list of favorite all-time game soundtracks, I'm guessing Outlaws would be number one.

BTW, this demo popped up on Monday, but has not yet been reported on any other English speaking game sites that I know of, which will make this very aggravating for me when it gets reported elsewhere tonight and tomorrow without acknowledgement of where it came from.

Sorry, pretty unimportant in the scheme of things, but I just needed to vent in advance. I'm eager to apologize further if I turn out to be wrong, which would be a pleasant surprise.
