Surprised and disappointed at the spam outburst from a long-time member, Hoop. Regrettably, a repeat will force a permanent ban.

Cosell was awesome.

And here I believed I was one of the only people who thought that. Seems like everyone I know hated him. :/

Here are my opinions on some of the announcers being discussed here:

Loved Cosell. Love Marv Albert. Hate Joe Buck. Used to like Tim McCarver when he began doing Mets games, but before long his attention to detail gave way to pedantry. He's become positively tedious.

In any case, I can definitely tell you guys have your own little world and anyone that doesn't hold your views isn't welcome. Sounds like tolerance to me.( Coughing ) So go ahead and ban me then fucking hypocrite.

There's a simple rule against slurs because they are inflammatory: If you run afoul of that it's not because I'm a hypocrite. And you even pretending you occupy some sort of intellectual high ground here should have you more embarrassed than the churlish behavior you are attempting to justify.

What are the odds that the deli you (the general you) go to in New York makes its own Pastrami?

I would suspect now that most places just purchase their Pastrami from some distributor; and there is nothing special about most of Pastrami in New York delis.

I'll ask the next time I'm there. I'm guessing you're wrong, but I can't say for sure.

Hey Blue when you get a chance can ya check my Avatar, I changed it to the Arrow, which was fine and tried to change it again to something else, and it reverted back to the arrow. Had it under 10kb and 64x64.

Weird. I think there may be a bug in there somewhere. Is the avatar there now the correct one?

I was a bit surprised Witten made it into the game. Lacerated spleen? Just rub some dirt on it!

Yeah, he's a pretty tough dude. OTOH, he had a terrible game with drops and penalties, so he seemed like a liability out there.

No need for any driving tests, just take away their licenses at 75. Easy, cheap and by the time I get there I'll be happy to not be driving anymore.

It will free up traffic for those who can actually drive (and save some lives).

They should take the 100 year old who did this out back and shoot him.

Fatal accidents per 1000 drivers (by age) from 2009 (National Safety Council).

Any guesses what it shows?

19-under: 38
20-24: 36
25-34: 24
35-44: 20
45-54: 20
55-64: 18
65-74: 18
75-over: 28

Yes there's a jump for the elderly, which makes them slightly worse than 25-34 year olds. However, you'd make the roads *far* safer by banning drivers under 25 than those over 75. Not to mention how many more of them there are in total.

Just sayin'...

Yeah, I like that one too.

I also did not understand how Kill Bill Vol 2 ended up on that list.

Very nice results, although keeping it clean and the rust off it is a job. But it's worth it.

Sounds like it may not be properly seasoned. My Lodge pans are very low maintenance.

You can Google about seasoning, but it basically is just cleaning the pan really well, oiling it, and baking it at about 400 for an hour or more.

They still sell unenameled cast iron pans. It's all I cook in, except for the occasional stainless steel pot. If properly cared for, they really do last a lifetime or longer.

I am a huge fan of Lodge pans, and own three of them. I was referring to my belief that Le Creuset no longer makes plain cast iron anymore... even the ones with black cooking surfaces are enameled.

Wow the day you ban me for having a different view than others is the day you first broke a bone? What about that? Well unlike most here I hope you feel better. With that said, people on here constantly cuss, say rude comments, etc...and I never see them get banned. A matter of fact, they are still going strong. However, let a christian say his view and he gets banned. Some would call that being a bigot...Go look up the word.

You got a last warning the last time you topped off an obit with one of your little bad-taste Westboro baptisms. You may not have believed me then, but I bet you're a believer now.

And Karma? You're branching out into Indian religions now too?

My patience with your pursuing your political and religious agendas here at the expense of topicality and good taste is at a breaking point.

Continuing with this going forward will earn you a ban. So will any attempt at using this warning as a way of launching a discussion about said agendas and/or the fairness of this.

Steak spices go very well with BBQ veggies as long as you don't overdue it.

Also, have you ever tried to BBQ Salmon on a plank? I tried it but I don't think I let the plank soak long enough as it caught fire and ruined the Salmon.

...smelled nice though.

I have a few planks to do this with, but haven't tried it yet. Definitely plan on soaking them well when I do, though, so I hope I don't repeat your fire experience.

Grill up some veg. Green onion, endive, peppers, etc. Good for what ails ye!

I don't talk so much about the greens, but we always grill some. Today, in fact, MrsBlue and I had a bit of a fight, because I was astounded at the potential waste represented by her spending $35.00 on a bag of veggies at the farm stand, as that's too much for the two of us to consume before some of it goes bad.
