Thanks. The problem resides on my end then. I'm guessing it may be the "Mike Brady-era" computer I'm using at work.

I'll try again when I get home.

Does anyone else have troubles getting the stories linked to Gamespot working? They hardly ever work. Maybe since I'm not a 'premium' subscriber, I'm only allowed to view their articles during a certain time frame in a day.

**Referring to the Halo 2 story

Don't forget Lando, Leia, the rebel commanders, the probe droid, R2-D2 and C3PO, the Jawas, the Rancor, Jenga Fett, etc, etc.

I'll be the Rancor. He only had a small part in one of the movies.

Joblow is definitely jarjar....or Theodore Kaczynski - I can't say for sure.

... how the semi-literate all seem to be such staunch Bush supporters.

It's sad that an election can turn rational, intelligent adults into name-calling kids.

I'm glad it's all over, and I'd like to thank John Kerry for being "man" enough to concede and not drag this out in the legal system for weeks.

So... Osama Bin Laden saw "Fahrenheit 9/11."

If you watch the entire Bin Laden video - at the end of it, you see the "I'm John Kerry, and I approve of this message" stamp. (Yes, a bad joke..sorry)

Player's can no longer create a map hole by firing a rocket into the ground and jumping onto it.

- from the changelog.

haha. Silly bugs.

Btw, this shows there is jumping in the game.

I'm curious if anyone's played this - how is it?

Look at Americas Army, a "game" fully funded by the army (read government). To me that's just sinister. Motives? Obviously recruitment.

That is how it has always been presented. As a recruitment tool. You can download it online or get it at a recruitment office. They've never tried to deny this fact.

"Joe's" post is a variation of the same damn post he does for any game related news item that involves modern warfare. He also seems to have thing for "fingers and asses" - since he makes mention of them in pretty much all of his posts.

The draft is coming soon! Don't wait too long or you could be a victim of a roadside bomb in Iran, Saudi Arabia, Syria or Indonesia!

The House voted 402-2 to defeat the draft bill offered last year by Rep. Charles Rangel, D-N.Y.

silly child.

...and all the other news stations aren't biased one way or the other? Ask Dan Rather.

One of the biggest problem with today's news...any of the outlets...is that the reporters have gone from reporting the facts to reporting their opinions on the facts. That is all fine and good...if the article is located in the editorial section.

1. Xbox Live Content for Rainbow Six 3: Bla Oct 8, 2004, 06:30 Hollowguy

One map, Village, is already available free of charge, while the remaining four are to follow in the next few weeks. Dubbed Assault Pack #1, the collection of new maps will cost only $5.

Pardon my language - but - F**K THAT! I got rid of the last Splinter Cell because they started to charge for additional content.

The game is $49.99. Xbox Live is $49.99. The Xbox system is $179.99 (or so - doesnt matter, it was more when I got it). Add monthly cable costs, electricity, and the beer I need to properly control the f***ing thing. That's a s**t load invested into it already. Why charge for additional and PROMISED content?

I know $5 isn't much - but it's only 4 goddamn maps! FFS!! At that rate I currently have 1.5 billion dollars worth of CS maps on my PC that I paid nothing for.

Looks like I'll be holding off purchasing this for a bit - if at all. I don't understand how it could be left out of the original plans. Oh well.

5. Re: ATTENTION GAME PUBLISHERS Oct 8, 2004, 04:18 Hollowguy

TW: Why was a stand alone server not included with release?

Patrick: Tt wasn't part of the original development plan and was developed too late in the cycle to be included with the game.

TW: The game's release date was pushed up from Oct 12th to the 5th. Was this decision a good move for the game when that extra time could have been used to include features such as the standalone server?

Patrick: Its hard to say, but most likely, it wouldn't have changed the situation.

TW: When will we see a stand alone server released?

Patrick: VUG will be providing a toolset in the next few days that will allow users to set up and run dedicated Tribes: Vengeance servers that will not require a CD.

Just odd. Humorous and odd.

@madeus -

I'm sure you've handle this, but I thought I would mention it anyway. You stated that it was a newer version of your old credit card. Did you activate it? Even if it's the same card - they require activation to make sure it didn't arrive in someone else's hands during shipping. Just something to eliminate as a possible problem.

Other than that - I would think about calling your bank to rule out any problems on their end before trying to problem solve on Valve's end. I would imagine that "chaotic" would be a good way to describe Valve at this point in time.

Does this mean he didn't get the rights to the game (whichever it was - Freespace maybe?) that he wanted to?

Derek Smart - I mean.

Not a flame - just curious. He created quite a stir a while back with his intentions of picking up some game series and making it his own - then within a few days - nothing more on it.

I tried the XBox demo of this game that came with the official magazine a few months ago. It's the first XBox game that I have ever played that ran like a slideshow throughout. It looked nice, but ran like complete crap. If it was a PC game that I was playing - I would've assumed that my system wasn't good enough. 'Some Dude's' assessment that the Xbox version should run like crap if the PC one does is dead-on. Avoid it.

Can't wait to see how they ship a hat and stickers via Steam. %)

As for the ATI voucher question...I imagine that it will be the bronze edition. Upgrading it to another edition might be a good public relations move - but it wouldn't really help the 'bottom line.'

Edit: Sorry for reposting the hat/stickers/steam "joke." I didn't review the ENTIRE thread prior to posting.
