Kind of like the overhyped doom 3 engine screenshots. Then when doom 3 the game actually came out, people were like WTF?

i disagree, the claimed screenshots:
http://www.unlimitedgamer.net/coverage/doom3/d3_images_01.php
wasn't too different from the actual game screenshots at all:
http://www.gamespot.com/pc/action/doom3/images.html

people went WTF because of the awful gameplay.

getting there...

but just a general 3d question: look at the left girl's shoulder. it still has lines and looks polygonish. isn't there any move to removing this limitation in games in general?

hm, cedega worked well enough for me? i only tried the very newest version.

i don't see how this will work. porting the entire directx game to opengl code is going to be hell for the whole company, and it sounds like they want one programmer to do it.

it would be better to hire a directx programmer to tweak the game so that little problems faced by the directx->opengl renderer in cedega is removed.

News Comments > Crysis DirectX 9 & 10 MP Performance
37. DX10 cards and DX9 cards Sep 14, 2007, 04:36 rocketpcguy

Due to the strong hardware available with DX10, server load is less and performance is increased. This ensures the pure physics and day and night cycle experience without any limitation.
so a roughtly-integrated-performance-like nvidia 7100gs will be able to play the dx10 settings, while an ati x1950 pro would not be "strong" enough as the 7100gs?

this is retarded. like some other poster mentioned, the obvious decision would be to provide a setting, so that the user will know if their pc is powerful enough.

1. Black screen of darkness to haunt... Sep 11, 2007, 14:04 rocketpcguy

In an e-mail to a large Windows Vista distributor titled "Pirated Vista -- A darkness descends!" -- a local Microsoft representative made it quite clear what Vista pirates can expect to happen to their unlicensed installations.

that article is SO naive!! they've already bypassed the piracy check, and will continue doing do. it

look at the quality of the floor and the right building:
http://gameinfowire.com/image.asp?iid=72379&gid=2316&pg=&pid=17

it looks like a 2005 PC release game. why is that particular shot so completely different from the rest?

1. Google Plans to Put Video Ads Into... Sep 9, 2007, 02:24 rocketpcguy

if this is true, its crazy. the reason i used to go to google instead of others is that other search engines used to be flashy and include images and stuff. if google starts putting flash video ads, i'm outta here.
if it happends, are there any other search sites worth actually using?

this is not making sense. why are we supporting PC gaming again? how come we're okay with spending thousands of dollars on dual core processors + 2GB of high quality RAM + a $500 graphic card to get a decent framerate when a $350 xbox 360 does the same thing smoothly?

News Comments > EA versus Wikipedia
19. Re: I don't really get all the hubbub Aug 17, 2007, 02:56 rocketpcguy

Wikipedia's reliability is simply zero for any and all official or financial purposes. ZERO. The information is not verified,

several statements are referenced, with the references in the bottom. that makes the reliability for referenced articles a bit more than zero.

this is arguable, but just because an article is edited by one person or one company does not necessarily mean that the reliability is high.
