but i had problems with the steam's system tray before, but maybe because i was using fluxbox. the main applications was were working.
many games individually requires some setting up from instructions on the internet to have a decent framerate or to work at all, they should make an official front end for these things. but most seem to work fine in the end.

2. Intel Core 2 Processor Performance Compa Mar 17, 2008, 00:41 rocketpcguy

i don't understand why any gamer would want to get the fastest processors. according to the benchmarks, they are fine with a cheap E6600 ($250), and upgrading to the fastest most expensive quad core ($1300) will only give you 4 fps extra. not worth the $1000 i think.
if you spent that money on another/faster GFX card, you can get a much more noticeable improvement.

News Comments > Sweeney: PCs Good for Anything... But Games
24. No subject Mar 11, 2008, 02:15 rocketpcguy

Sweeney: I really don't know why they kept the 32-bit version of Vista. I was surprised when they decided to keep the 32-bit version, I expected that they would push the 64-bit version exclusively. It would have been the perfect time for that.

with xp being discontinued, people would be FORCED to buy newer processors if they want to use windows? even if they have a 3.6GHz P4. think people will like that? think microsoft will like that? does he have any business sense whatsoever?

Let's be clear with it. The switch to exclusively 64-bit would clean up all the legacy viruses and spyware programs that have been plaguing us for years.

so spyware programs will suddenly stop working if it's on 64-bit? but anything that doesn't spy on users will continue to function magically?

so they don't trust the ESRB? the site (http://whattheyplay.com) said that:
Call of Duty 4 is recommended for ages 13 and up
Crysis is okay for 11 year olds and up
The Sims Bon Voyage only for 13 and up
Quake 4 for 10 and up.

Jesus Christ, will this fucking franchise just die and go away please!?

the sims probably made more money than Deus Ex, or Bioshock, or Crysis, or Portal. as long as it makes more money, it will prosper better than other games.

The game's single-player campaign also didn't quite pan out to expectations, said Morris. As with character customization, Epic felt its campaign was coarse in comparison, with Morris saying, "It was good, but it wasn't BioShock."
where they aiming for a bioshock like experience when they started developing that crap single player campaign?

I sat in on a small private demo at last year's GDC. It was very impressive. I don't see it replacing standard controllers anytime soon, but it could definitely enhance our gaming experience.

surely you would have more to say about this Quaternion. how did it feel like?
