They only need 10k to be successful. They have 40% more. Dedicated fans who, at a minimum, will support it for a year. Not counting those who will flock to it if its great.

See, this is what happens when people make up their opinions and judge things without knowing anything about it. There is no PvE. You don't level to get to it, you start it right away.
And some idiot after you two yaps about how there's no content update to justify monthly fees because its RvR and he wants his pve raids. I mean really? There' no way to improve an RvR game over time? Add new objectives, mechanics, abilities to the raw engine. You can already build your own keeps.. did minecraft not have any reason for updates because it had no PvE raids?
Come on people. Grow the fuck up.

Man, there sure are a lot of angry nerds here.
Yes DAoC is that beloved. Yes many still consider DAoC to be the best PvP MMO. No, GW2 doesn't have a 'hold' on 3 realm RvR. Its a half assed, poorly executed, no metagame ripoff of DAoC. They overpromised and under delivered on that. And they focus too much on PvE and making it a gear grindfest to dedicate the proper time to a PvP end game.
EA sweet talks a lot of people with money. He learned his lesson there. Games Workshop is probably in the top 3 biggest POS companies in gaming and their deadline and lack of any understanding of MMO's forced Mythic to release WAR over a year before they wanted to. |

Not had any issues with Workshop either. Like the integration better though download speeds seem pitiful, but that only comes into play on really big mods.
But Nexus has more mods since it has bigger file allowance. And yeah it's ugly, but also more customizable so I guess you can't have both?
So each has it's pluses and minuses. Let's not get into a stupid war over which is better.
Instead use this to share your opinion of the DLC, what cool things you've found, etc. |

I don't get this game. Why is everyone so excited about it?
Is it turn based?
I haven't gotten to any monsters, mostly because I can't figure out how the mage works with his spells.
If its real time, how do I command 4 characters to do something without it being turn based?
I'm so very confused about this game. |

I am highly doubtful this will turn out to be a grand success; big (and little) devs will continue to go over budget, and in this case, no one will be around to extend times available or bail them out. I know a lot of people feel that's no different than the publisher backed model, but I do : )
