Thanks for the replies! I'm actually surprised at the lack of solid middle range speakers. My old pair of middle range 5.1 speakers are in a word awesome. I think they out perform some higher end speakers. I'll see when or if I can get them back up here. They're currently in my parents' house on the other side of the country.

I'll look into seeing if I can't score a deal on Klipsch's ProMedia 2.1. I've looked into more expensive systems but some of the subwoofers are so massive and I'm hard up for space as it is! Headphones aren't an option since I use my PC as a media center as well as for gaming.

I'm looking at upping my price point and getting either Klipsch's ProMedia 2.1 speakers, or Logitech Z523 or even maybe Logitech Z623s. Thanks for the insight!
