Ok, I have not played SC2 or been that interested in it, but those who have .... did it live up to the hype or has it fallen short?
(The succese of SC1 in South Korean was not due to it being the be all and end all of gaming but more to the economic climate at that time when many south Korean people where unemployed and spending time in internet cafes imho) |

While traveling back form India, feeling squashed in those plane seats, think with 6 hours still to go on the flight - just let me out of this plane, I took stock thinking what those guys had to go thought and remembered just how lucky we all are.
Great story, inspiring. |

This is the way that I see Derek Smart has done his work over the years, while I don't think he makes great games* (or good ones), he has been in business for a long time and I do think he is a good businessman for that. (along with lawyers)
Also, their are those who like his games and are happy to see him continue.
In the case of 1C, good on them, they sound like they know now to make a sastainable income, and sounds like people have enjoyed their work aswell.
*I've played less than an hour of some of his demos, maybe a few hours of 2000bc demo back in day, nothing fantastic. |

Please, for the sake of Beamer, can someone please dumb down this game with press button to open door patch (maybe the HOME key could just take you to the end credits)
Your not much of a gamer if you struggle to adapt to a slight change in you COD control system. |

Other than -
Piracy I think the most alarming thing was that the game was available as a pirated copy 24 hours or so before release. This kind of 0-day release can be quite hurtful, as otherwise paying customers might be so anxious to play that they pirate and then forget to pay for it. Since we released the game online only, we were not expecting this and the source of the illegal copy was one of our review copies (with tracking info hacked away). We are not sure what to do about this in the future, but we will have to be more careful and perhaps not send out review copies to so many outlets. It could have gone a lot worse though as a the first review copies (of early builds) were sent out almost a month before release.
I don't see them 'blame' piracy, they just call it like it is saying some will grab the pirated game cos its there and then not pay for it. This is true. |

Unfortunately the majority love clients and DRM. It's more accurate to say that the majority doesn't know any better. It's more accurate to say that Verno is not the majority when it comes to saying what is accurate, nor does he even necessary know any better. |
