I kinda think the study says that Windows pops up so much generally useless bullshit that users have become accustom to completely ignoring it and/or just clicking OK to continue with what they actually want to do. Malware writers have exploited this fact and it really works. Basically, users do need to pay more attention, but MS also needs to greatly cut down on the amount of BS it throws in front of the user.
As an example: Bluesnews has a little flash type add that pops up every now and then directly in front of the news. It's highly annoying and I immediately look for the X to close it. That X could have the word Malware printed right next to it and I'd never notice. |

I would. I bought Rock Legend after playing the demo because I really liked the concept and it was genuinely fun. I've played it quite a bit since that purchase.  I tried out his demos for Democracy and Democracy 2 as well, but I didn't like the first and the second had coding errors that caused crashes so I did not buy them.
But that just exemplifies my standard position that I will NOT buy a game without a demo. I will not buy Spore and I will not buy FarCry 2. Spore happens to exemplify my second position that I will NOT buy a game with DRM that treats a legal purchaser as a criminal. I may not be a pirate, but that doesn't mean I have to give asshole companies my money for their shitty games |

I'm not defending the status of AoC, but they pushed a major patch at the end of open beta that produced huge improvements in performance and stability (which they have since squandered with subsequent patches).
Beta reviews are absolutely worthless because the game is still in BETA! |
