This isn't about equal rights, it's about special rights. I'm not gay, and I can't marry a man. Neither can a gay man. So, there, we are equal. Seems absurd, but think about it. You don't want the law applied equally, you want an exception to be made.

That is a new level of convoluted logic for me.

You do realize that prior to prop 8 you COULD marry a man, gay or not, if you so desired right? I have no effing clue why you would....but you could.

Marriage in the eyes of the law is nothing more than a legally binding contract for tax and property rights and nothing more. Prop 8 legislates morality...religious morality at that and will be struck down as discriminatory as it already has been in the past.

What pisses me off about statements like this is the ignorance concerning what it takes to actually pass laws and bills in this country. He wasn't able to do anything without a MAJORITY vote and if I'm not mistaken the majority has been Democrat for quite some time.

Oh god oh god oh god oh god.

I think the best way to put this nicely is that the legislative branch was under the control of republicans for 6 of the 8 Bush years....you ignorant bastard.

"For goodness sake it was written by a professional speech writer, probably white over weight, half cut on JD watching from behind the stage itching his nuts while staring at Obamas wifes legs."

Obama writes his own speeches, Hoop....so you're pretty well wrong on every single assumption there. The two books Obama has put out weren't written for him, he wrote them himself.

Obama is a gifted orator and an intelligent man which is a welcome change from the last 8 years.

Here's a Time article entitled "How Obama Writes His Speeches"

In other news, you can make a study say whatever the hell you want it to with enough biased analysts and plenty of funding!!

http://www.cnn.com/2008/HEALTH/11/03/teen.pregnancy/index.html

"Study links sexual content on TV to teen pregnancy"

Juno was such an uplifting film...I'm sure a bunch of young girls went out and got pregnant after seeing it.

Uhhh....isn't that supposed to work the other way? Wouldn't a transfer off a low pop server in essence just plain kill the server...while moving to high pop would add the dreaded que?

Well luckily this can't happen in the US without adding book, movie and music rentals into the equation. I'm sure there are a few corporations in the US that would throw a fit if rentals were taken away.

It's a wonder he was able to pass the bar in the first place when he wasn't an old lunatic...I doubt he could pass again. But as far as I know...yes, he can.

1. Fake popup study sadly confirms most use Sep 24, 2008, 10:06 Pumas

I kinda think the study says that Windows pops up so much generally useless bullshit that users have become accustom to completely ignoring it and/or just clicking OK to continue with what they actually want to do. Malware writers have exploited this fact and it really works. Basically, users do need to pay more attention, but MS also needs to greatly cut down on the amount of BS it throws in front of the user.

As an example: Bluesnews has a little flash type add that pops up every now and then directly in front of the news. It's highly annoying and I immediately look for the X to close it. That X could have the word Malware printed right next to it and I'd never notice.
