SkyNET multiplayer sessions are still some of my favourite gaming memories... no game has yet matched how awesome it was to have someone as a terminator hunting down a couple of guys in a city. It was such a simple idea, pulled off perfectly.

I'm sorry, but I missed the part of that video which apparently sucked. It looked like half-decent a new version of Soldier of Fortune to me.

Simply the price of over-hyping a game.

Everything is hyped. Get over it. If you'd spent 50 bazillion dollars developing a game you'd want to over-hype it too, so let 'em have their press release moment. On a side note, I thought Halo 3 was darn good fun with a few mates. Gears of War was entertaining too, but I'm sure it'll be even more fun with a good ol' mouse. So, buy it if you like it- end of story.

I have a 7600GS (single cpu core system) and the game ran well in 640x480 with the high quality options turned off (like blur- no biggie, it's hard to notice). The game looked simply breathtaking at times, but that may be due to me not being a resolution whore Anyway, I welcome an updated demo. There was an issue with the first where the music (which is awesome) kept cutting out during gameplay. Hopefully this has been fixed, and if so, I'll buy it for sure.

Just wanted to say: I hate when companies send out a press release to tell everyone they've arrived.

Can I just ask- what the heck were you whiners looking at when the rest of us were looking at Starcraft 2? Those graphics look plain awesome to me, and the whole thing looks like everything Starcraft fans have been waiting years for. I mean, I know nothing brings out the Blue's whiners club like screenshots of a big game, but... sheesh.

Anyway, thankyou Blizzard for not making an SC MMO!

Would you believe that on another site, I saw a post by a kid who described the 90's as "old school"? I still can't get over it.

I laugh about Doom being classed as old school every day

Serious Sam 2 worked fine for me, and for a friend of mine who played through it twice. It wasn't perfect, but it was enjoyable.

"Open-world in a FPS? FarCry."

Are you kidding me? Not only did Farcry suck, but it wasn't even slightly open-world. It looked open-world, but every route was blocked by ledge or bush.

25. Re: PC & console differences. May 5, 2007, 08:59 Reactor

About the spoilers- as far as I know the film isn't supposed to end the trillogy.

"Spider-Man 3 just tackles too much and ends up with a poorly-developed script."

I agree it tackles far too much, but even so, all of the things it tackles make for a fun flick. Everyone I know that's seen it (bar internet whiners) loved it. Everyone I know thought X2 was meh.

"You are making the mistake of assuming that comics are only for kids. I still read comics (including Spider-Man) today."

My point was that kids don't over analyse movies to the point where they suck the fun out of them. I mean, comic book plotlines generally suck. There are some truly great ones, but when you're talking about marvel comics a fair wad of them are as convoluted and 'this and that goes boom' as S3 was in places. If I'd seen S3 as a kid I would have been raving about it for weeks, mainly because all of the comics I read years ago (marvel ones, mostly) were very similar.

"Have you read the comics?"

I was a Ghost Rider fan back in the day, so I can't say I know a great deal about Venom's long story arcs. That said, there's still a lot of room for Venom's character to develop how you've mentioned in a future Spiderman. Can't he just be a mad villian the first time he appears in the movies? I don't see why not.

Personally, I hate it when 'old time fans' whine about comic book movies. Comics were fun, entertaining and interesting. Most of all, they were cool when we were all kids. The storyline in S3 isn't perfect, but it has so many cool elements to it I couldn't help but like it... it's like a comic book on film. Honestly, if you can't have fun with this movie, forget your comic reading past and take up a borning hobby like knitting. You've obviously forgotten why kids who love comics love this kind of movie too.
