I have an original, still in shrink wrap! Got it for free when I worked at EA 11 years ago! They were throwing that shit out!

Cool.

Hmm, that trailer was a lot worse than I thought it would be...

Looks like an awesome game for consoles, but that's about it.

Somehow I doubt most gamers give EA a second thought. Hardcore gamers (if it's okay to use that term) on the other hand...

The Indie developers don't seem to have any problems with it? Braid, World of Goo, Crayon Physics, The Maw, Audiosurf etc. Most of those guys spent approximately zero dollars on marketing, just relying on word of mouth. Worked out well for most of them.

Do you have any idea who the average indie dev is? You know, the guy who worked for a year on his game, only to have it rejected by Steam for no apparent reason? Those games you've listed are good ones, but their success is also down to a healthy helping of 'right place, right time'. There are tons of indie devs who'd love to put more money into advertising, because generally speaking, getting the word out (even if their game is great) is damn hard work without money.

This month's PC Gamer has an awesome interview with all the Indie devs.

All of them, huh? I guess you're talking about the guys above...

...in the style of Douglas Adams, Terry Pratchett and Matt Groening...

Looks cool, but... yeah, that's just a silly statement, in more ways than one.

I guess the artists and mission creators needed something to do while the programmers fixed things.

It's not that bad. When I first started playing it, I thought it was terribly buggy... but as I kept playing, eventually it got to the point where I had trouble noticing any.

It was an earlier version than the 360 one, so the engine was inferior, but it was a great game... mostly because it was so funny. I enjoyed it from beginning to end.

I haven't seen the Hitman movie, but what I've heard about it is enough to make me worry about a Just Cause film.

Installed it, and I get a nice crash to the desktop if I try and play the campaign.

I wonder if a reset will fix it. Ah well, the searching for answers begins.

Edit: god damn it only $10 off, nvm, fuck that.

LOL... I read it that was too, at first. A fantastic game though, well worth paying full price for.

Can we classify 'stupid people' as a race so I can become racist and hate them?

LOL

It doesn't have any AA options, but you should be able to set the AA to whatever you want in your video card software. Force AA, force V-sync.

Yup, also try nHancer.

There are some large bugs sitting on the community buglist... things like dead AI reporting your position. I've personally seen a lot of bugs in the random spec-op missions, like being able to take over a dead teammate (the game didn't know what to do after that- there was no UI or anything, and it has happened twice so far) and helicopter issues every two seconds. The reality is the game has a large amount of bugs, but that's no reason to avoid it, or give up on it, as it still offers some fanstatic gaming moments.

AI that is completely predictable and then expect all that from a simulator like ArmA2.

I truly love that aspect of Arma 2. The computer AI is brutal... and that's a breath of fresh air. Not since Opflash have I felt what it's like to be running for my life in a forest

From what I understand the codebase was rewritten for Arma (or at least, a very large chunk of it) but yes, it should be fairly solid by now. In truth, there are parts of Arma2 that are pretty solid (the editor, for one) but whoever is behind the scripting needs to learn a thing or two.
