Its fine, but the CORE GAME is supposed to be space combat. Once they nail that cool move onto space janitor mop simulation but godammn..get it right first. We could have epic battlstar galactica quality stuff goin on here and its not gonna happen *AGAIN*

You know, you have a crappy attitude. We've HAD dog fighting games before. You've saved the galaxy shooting down a 1000 enemy ships dozens of times before. All my life, all I've EVER wanted to is be a starship engine mechanic. We've never had that before, and SC let's us be what we want to be. THAT'S why I funded at the $500 level. I'm sure Elite will be a fine game, but stop trying to make Star Citizen into Elite. Let Star Citizen BE Star Citizen.

There's lots of people in the SC who actively DO NOT WANT OR CARE about the Dogfighting/Space Combat! I MEAN WTF this is supposed to be a space combat game at its core?!? Yep if they intend to follow thru on all the backer requests they say 'yes' too this will make GTA look like an N64 game in complexity. Seriously I dont see how they gonna pull it off. They shoulda just stuck to the space combat stuff and got that fucking EXCELLENT then moved on to other misc shit. Its gonna be a horrible mess for a long time

If you watched the live stream video of the dogfighting I could spot many a nervous face, what they are taking on to do is a GTA/ROckstar sized project of maybe bigger proportions, they are gonna need a bigger team to pull this off I think

I dont think so, its very old school. You can use an Xbox controller if you so wish but its very dogfighting centric no weird XR manouvers

I kind of like this in X-Rebirth makes the ship controls really easy.

Those of us who have actually been following what has been going on have been aware for almost a month that they were debating which path to take on the dogfighting module. Release it with existing Crysis code or build it from scratch?

I've seen a number of comments here on BluesNews by those who aren't really following the game but are on the distant sidelines, making comments that indicate they don't really understand the context of what they are talking about.

So let me see if I have this straight now. You're saying that as of a month and a half before the deadline -they- had set, they hadn't even decided what engine they were going to use? And you're saying that's not waiting until the last minute to start on something they'd promised "no matter what"?

I guess I've been put in my place... I was being far more generous than that, assuming they'd actually made a decision in time to reach their deadline but just not announced it. This just screams of mismanagement.

You are NOT getting this straight. It was always known that they'd need to make their own multiplayer code. What they were debating is if they were going to make the initial dogfighting module with the current Crytek multiplayer code or later with the new multiplayer code. And all of this was apparently known for more than a month by people who follow the game.
