Where'd that happen?

$40? Ouch. I was expecting $20 again, plus the discounts on top of that.

Even with the 20% off pre-order, it'll still be about $32, which is still $15 more than I was hoping for. I'll pass for now and get Dead Island the week after and pickup RO2 during the holiday sale, if word of mouth is good.

Awesome SMG, acccuracy is shit.

Accuracy isn't a big issue on SMG's with the various Siren skills, and as a Siren you are often in close range of your enemies anyways. So it makes for some great in your face shredding of enemies. Last night we were doing Moxxi's and by the end of each set, I (Siren + SMG) was doubling the kills my buddy had as a Soldier with Rifle and Pistol.

Just keep a high accuracy SMG for when you need some ranged accuracy.

I'm currently using 3 different SMG's and a Sniper Rifle, with a Shock Shotgun to help with the Guardians shields.

more stuff...

- Push-To-Talk voice, with options for volume, individual player mute, etc.
- Ending...adding to what Verno said...and I've harped on it in almost every BL thread since release. The ending was a pathetic joke, easy stationary boss, practically no loot, bad cut-scene, Vault locked back up. Lame.
- Better friends list (hand in hand with UI overhaul) that doesn't use Gamespy. Use Steamworks for god sakes.
- Maybe a crafting system with old guns.
- Ability to mod guns.
- Better looking, less barren world (don't use desert landscape, or at least have a variety), drop the vehicles, or at least make them fun and control better.

...

Things I'd like to see in Borderlands 2...

- Clearer stats, both for class and weapons (what weapons are better?).
- More meaningful class variety.
- Better loot drops. If I kill a boss and see all white and green drops, the game just became less fun....and it's been happening alot.
- Equippable armor loot drops.
- Better variety in class mods. Playing a Siren, the class mods have mostly been useless as 80% of them seem to enhance the same skills, only 1 of which I've taken in my build. There has basically been no suitable class mods for the Assassin tree.
- More variety in missions.
- Inventory system needs to be vastly improved.
- UI in general needs to be greatly improved on the PC. There are still screens that do not have basic functionality that other screens have (PgUp, PgDn, Esc, Mouse Wheel scroll, etc).
- Loot roll system with filters (see WoW loot) to set the rarity to prompt on group loot rolls. Roll/Pass/Need/Greed....etc. Even with friends its painfully annoying to have to bother people..."hey can I see that weapon?". Maybe they want to keep for themselves, but what about the rest of the group? FFA loot is dumb.

I'm sure there is more, but Im at work and it's taken me half an hour as it is just type this much between stuff at work.

Yes, the loot drops got brutally nerfed for lower levels, though once you reach 50 and 61 they actually go up noticeably.

Yea well I doubt I'll get to that level. We are both lvl 40 about to hit 41. We have Knoxx and Claptrap DLC to go through, then we are done, and neither of us have any interest in doing Playthrough 2.

Yea the guns really needed a DPS value, or a dmg value on your stats or something.

Between dmg, fire rate, elemental dmg, multiplier, and all the other stats on the weapons, it's often difficult to tell what weapons are better. Usually was simple trial and error when you got a gun that might be an upgrade.

Shotguns are probably the most powerful weapon in game, you just have to be able/willing to let the enemy get close enough.

Maybe at the lower levels, but once you get higher level, shotguns become useless. I'd rather take my high dmg, fast fire rate, low accuracy SMG to unload in the enemies face than the shotguns I have tried (unique and rare current level weapons).

Edit: I'll add that seems you guys found some decent shotguns. I've never seen one even remotely close to 12x220.

Back when I first played, there was lots of loot. This most recent playthrough, it's like they heavily nerfed the droprate. I noticed they had made a lot of what were Red Loot crates into White boxes, significantly decreases chances to get anything good. Also used to find Uniques in the vending machines all the time...and now, never.

I'm currently going through the DLC with a friend after recently completing a coop play through. Mad Moxxi's DLC sucks, although still better than the arena's in the base game. Drops in the DLC sucks donkey balls. Have yet to see a unique, and rares are almost as bad.

As was said, the game lacks depth. The only thing that makes it fun is playing with a friend and the combat. Everything else is just lackluster and holds so much potential but never really shines.

One would assume that the teams that we're invited/attending, also have the game already and are playing it.

So they all have an equal chance then. No different than if it was already released to the public.

And I'm guessing if they are involved with Valve for the testing of the game, there is some understanding amongst them to not use known bugs.

It was obviously you or StingingVelvet. You can deny all you like I could care less. The fact you chose to quite clearly insult everyone that doesn't agree with you and you are still attacking me because I disagree with you, proves how petty you can be.

The first time the game will be showed in public is at this event.

It's a PR event to promote the upcoming release of the game.

Hating on this is just petty.

Cheating. If you don't know how it worked in D2, then scroll back through the messages and read. I will take a more secure multiplayer game environment if it means losing an offline singleplayer mode.

I really doubt they are going to let anyone cash out to real money, its going to be for some form of in game currency.

Dev, "The real-money auction house provides players with an easy-to-use, Blizzard-sanctioned way to collect money for items they obtain while playing Diablo III."

This is real money. It's to get it off the shady sites and to give Blizzard a piece of the cut. If anything, it's going to devalue items because it won't just be the pro's businesses running the market, it will be everyone, making it if anything, less appealing to the pro businesses.

Best argument or not, it's a hell of a lot better than what you just contributed.

You mean the contribution I made showing that people are being hypocrites, have choices and that I still hope they get offline mode anyways?

Statements such as yours and Aseven's just go to show how tunnel visioned you people can be in your emo freakouts over games.

Bhruic wrote on Aug 1, 2011, 16:14:
But it should be evolving in a way that makes things better for the consumer, not worse.

There have been several things already outlined as being positives for consumers. But it's clear many of you wish to ignore those in favor of your individual needs.

The irony is how some people bitched up and down that Torchlight was single-player and the entire point of games like this are multiplayer. Enter D3 an people are bitching that single-player can't be played offline. The irony is laughable.

Uhhm, what? I quoted your whole sentence. You have stated several times already that you will consider pirating the game, even though you claim to have never done so before (in adult life). Would you like me to quote those to? Should you choose to do that, then all Im saying is you better buy the game first, otherwise you are part of the problem. But based on other threads lately, it's become clear that comprehension is not your strong suit.

For one thing Guild Wars was not the sequel to two offline games. For another thing Guild Wars never advertised itself as a singleplayer and multiplayer game. Lastly, Guild Wars was boring as shit when played solo and was obviously built around coop.

All of which are irrelevant. The only difference between Diablo and Guild Wars is GW was designed around being online only. Seriously, your best argument is that "D1 & D2 could be played offline"? Things change, designs change, technology changes, the game industry would be so fucked if it hadn't evolved from how it did things 15 years ago when Diablo came out.

StingingVelvet wrote on Aug 1, 2011, 15:44:
It makes the pirate copy the one that is worth more to me.

And if you do so without purchasing it first, then you are a part of the problem and nothing you say matters.

I think it is different and can see others points of view.

I dont see it as different, and I do see others points of view. I just think most are being hypocrites about their stance on this. Considering I can see a few of them on Steam at this very moment and what games they own, it's pretty hard for them to justify their comments.

Then you get other morons like Aseven who act all like a pompous righteous ass, even though the game they are most looking forward to is an online multiplayer first person shooter.

Personally I could care less if there was an offline mode or not. For the sake of those that do not have a persistent net connection, I hope Blizzard gives them an offline option for single-player, I really do. If they don't, and still want to play the game, they have a couple options. Buy the game play when you have a connection and something else when you don't. Or, buy the game and download the inevitable hacked copy to play offline when you dont have a net connection.

And if you want to argue Im promoting piracy, I'm not. Depending where you are, most will have a legal right to have a backup of the product you purchased and nobody is going to have problem with it if you purchased the game. It's often mentioned around here about people using cracks on games they own.
