One question though (and yes you probably already know what it is, but this is a legit question, especially since it is apparently Ubi) - does it use starforce? There's probably no reason in an online game, but it's certainly possible. Any current players know for sure? It is not listed on SF game lists. I knew it! I just knew it! SF just HAD to be mentioned!

Well on reading the recent "Spellforce 2 and Starforce" story, I went through my PC and removed all protected games and all instances (seemingly several incarnations) of SF, thinking that it may have had somehting to do with the instability of DDO on my system.
DDO hasn't crashed since.
That's a thing that makes you go .... Hmmmmmmmmm

The controls killed it for me. Why have a hotbar you can't click on to activate powers and have to use function keys instead? And no ability to remap your key config? Come on!
But if you can actually get past that LITTLE problem, move forward 20ft, grind one spot for a level, move forward another 20ft, grind that spot for a level. I'm amazed I made it to level 7.
This game stinks like last weeks underware.

Come on guys ... Alone in the Dark was a pretty good game, and this one sounds just like it.
Mind you, if I could load it now, I'm afraid I'd be reminded of the Ewe Boll travesty ... *ewwwww*

Having a quick scan over the patent it seems pretty broad reaching. Why wait for so long to claim breach of copyright? To maximise the possible claim? Then surely that is an act in contempt of the law .....

Don't forget that the leaders of our country do not make the decisions about these things in Canberra. Canberra is just the place that carries out the misguided ravings of the fool that lives in Government House in Sydney.
(You don't think that John Howard would live in a place that is a hardcore labour constituency do you?)

Ignorance of Politicians |

There is a huge ignorance among Australian politicians that computer and console games are play by kids and that is it .. that and the fact that policing the sale of games in Australia is in the "too hard basket" has led the fact that games that would get an R-Rating are just refused classification.
That said, its rare for the OFLC to refuse a rating to a game in Australia. The total number of games could that have been refused be counted on your hands here. I can't see HL2 being refused classification, when games like Manhunt and Doom3 were rated MA 15+.

Middle of November .... |

The middle of November is going to one hell of a time. Everquest 2, World of Warcraft and now Half Life 2. Oh well, HL2 being a FPS will be easy to pick up later, so no great loss .... It's going to be hard enough just balancing familty life while playing EQ2 and WoW.

From reading the HZ Vault Forums, people have done some digging into the relationship between Tulga Games and AE ... and there may be something just a little bit fishy.
EDIT: Looks like Z3ebra beat me to the story.
