Talisorn, lets backtrack, you paid full price $50? for a game thats bugged to hell even some bugs from SH3.... the game will never get support it deserves for the price. I am veteran of Silent Hunter games and back in the days of SH3 I used to run biggest buglist for over a year. UBI cut off ubi romania from supporting the game early before many big bugs that modders could fix. Same thing happened with SH4. By looking at the state of SH5 same thing is bound to happen.

I understand your points about you not having problems with DRM, this is all cool and nice, now if only the game was ACTUALLY worth $50 then this would be truly wonderful story.
Yup. Actually I paid a good deal more ... but Aussie pricing of games is another issue all together.

All I can say is I've yet to strike any gamebreaking bugs in SH5. It's been pretty good so far. Maybe ... just maybe ... there was a little more quality control on this product (well .. we can hope anyway).

As someone who has ACTUALLY paid for and played SH5, I don't have an issue with this form of DRM. No disc in drive. No limited installations. No limited activations. I just need a stable permanent internet connection .... which I have.

The asshats who are perfoming the DDoS attacks on the login servers are the pricks here. Fucking asshats! I have no sympathy for these pirate cunts; if it wasn't for them then DRM wouldn't be an issue.

I know I should be excited, but frankly all this prick-teasing by Blizzard is becoming counter-productive ... I'm just not interested anymore. Now just shut the hell up and get on with it!

Should wait for reviews.

But I want!

Really should wait for reviews.

But I REALLY want.

Wait for reviews dammit! Show a little self-control!

Alright - there's no need to get angry...
Glad I didn't have coffee. I would have spat it into the keyboard.

Nice one Prez.

yeah cause you know playing games where you rape, murder, kill, steal, assasinate, do drugs and the like is such a posative thing to do. and causes so many posative images to be floating around children and teens heads.

So heck yeah, why care about all the school violence, violence against parents, shootings, foul language, harshness etc of todays youth why should anyone care about silly stuff like School shootings every week anyway.

you people are bling and foolish and nearly all of your brains have been warped by this junk yourselves. why is "adult" content always, sex, rape, murder, debauchery etc? Ever stop to even think for a second that maybe "adult" content should be love, kindness, respect, self-control, self-sacrifice and other similar trates?

All of the supposed "adult" content is being put into games that 9-14 year olds play and watch at the movies and listen to in music hour after hour and day after day.

and you foolish people think this will have no effect at all.
I think you miss the point of the R18+ rating debate.

The debate is to allow adult content to be made available to adults and better inform parents of the games they purchase for their children. A parent will (theoretically) think twice before purchasing a game for little Johnny if it's got a big "R18+ Restricted" sticker on the front of the box where an M15+ sticker doesn't cut the mustard.

As for kids purchasing the games over the counter, stores in Australia are already restricted from selling MA15+ games to kids and face huge fines if they do. The R18+ rating would be even more restrictive in that respect.

In the '00s, Terrorists are out to destroy society.
In the '90s, Grunge music was the boggie man.
In the '80s, Dungeons and Dragons was the work of the devil.
In the '70s, Heavy Metal destroying the minds of the vulnerable.
In the '60s, Rock and Roll corrupting the youth.
In the '50s, comic books were corrupting the minds of children.

Keep going back and you get the picture.

Video Games are the great evil of this decade/generation. I just despair at the ignorant part of every generation that grows up, looks down, closes their minds and opens their mouths. When will we learn?

"Innovative MMO" and Korea do not belong in the same paragraph. Innovative for a Korean MMO is for it to not feel like a constant grindfest.

I hate to break it to you, but "XP Mode" does not support Direct 3D.

That said, the only game I've got that doesn't work well on Win 7 is Mechcommander 2. If you're really desperate, just run Sun's VirtualBox instead; that DOES support Direct 3D.

EDIT: To anyone who cares, I think STO is quite a good game, and I'm enjoying it. Sure, its not perfect, but the vast majority of players (IMHO) that are complaining about the game, are the ones who click past every dialogue box and just race to max level. The story in STO is pretty interesting, and if you stop thinking within the confines of WoW, you'll see the game is a good Star Trek game. You aren't some random adventurer, you are a Starfleet Officer, doing Starfleet type missions. Players just can't seem to grasp that. Oh well.
Agree 100%

Bah. It takes less than a day for these whiny bitches to finish something it takes Blizzard to create over ... how long? Let them wait, Blizzard ... let them wait.
