Looks good, but I was burned badly with their first game, Starpoint Gemini.

Once bitten, twice shy. I'm staying away from this one out of principle!

I know they are trying to stop the spammers, but they aren't doing a good job. Every night the chat box is full of gold seller spam. I've spent the past week reporting each and every spammer I see, but the gold sellers keep on coming. It's like they have an endless number of accounts, because as soon as one gets banned, two more take it's place.

It's gotten so bad, that there are add-ons you can install to stop receiving spam messages.

You forgot the biggest part:

"The Imperial Edition will also have exclusive digital content including the ability to play as an Imperial in any alliance"

Buy the CE and get access to a whole new race.

Wow, the game has only now just gone into Beta, and they are already pushing the Pay-2-Win button.

I hope this trend does not go farther than this, or the game is going to end up like every other F2P Pay-2-Win trash!

It had BETTER have out of vehicle combat. Because if it doesn't, I have two words for you.

Auto... Assault...

Don't know what that is? Exactly, that's my point!

I hope this game lasts longer than Auto Assault, which got it's plug pulled 12 months after release.

Then again, extending your closed beta for an extra year, so the hard-core who begged for a beta key, would burn out and there would be no one left to play on release... probably wasn't such a good idea. Rolleyes

Yea, but all that damn app does is rip news headlines off Yahoo, and repackages them onto a mobile phone friendly display.

FFS, I was ripping off Yahoo stock charts and news headlines back in 2000, for a stock market program, the company I was working for at the time was flogging off to customers at $6000 a pop... you don't see me walking away with 30 mil.

Trust me... he lucked out. If it was Google or Microsoft we was ripping headlines from, he would have been sued for 30 mil.

5. Re: Defiance Beta Event Underway Mar 23, 2013, 10:18 Ripperjack

This Beta weekend makes me a sad panda!

They shut down the alpha servers for the weekend, to focus on beta, and as I'm in alpha, I can't play until after the weekend.

Yea, yea... I can download the beta client, but with my crappy rural 3G internet that would take me all weekend to do just that!

Tried the alpha and it sucked. The show looks equally as bad. Both are bound to fail hard.

Well I wouldn't go so far and say the game is going to fail hard, as I've enjoyed my time in Alpha... well sort of, it gave me a diversion from GW2 for a while.

However, the game is very shallow, all about loot, shooting stuff, no crafting with very limited moding of weapons. If there were more sandbox features, then sure, I would give it more of a chance. However, I wouldn't be putting any money into this game until 6 months after release.

Pay us now for five DLCs that we may never make, because our MMO may tank straight out the door and we might close it long before we ever get around to doing DLC! 20% off!

...

Creston

Yea, Creston hit the nail on the head. I'm in Alpha and I am VERY reluctant to pay for a pre-order. I would give this game at least 6 months minimum before I would seriously consider paying for it.

Looks like Ubisoft wants it's battered PC wife back, after she left because Ubisoft was having an affair with a bunch of console mistresses.

Ubisoft - "Come back baby. It will be different this time I swear!... What? Those bedroom DRM restraints... they are nothing, I promise!"

This game is blatiant Pay 2 Win rubbish, which rewards you for using your daddy's credit card, rather than developing any skill.

AVOID! AVOID! AVOID!

Play FireFall and Defiance instead.

3. Re: Diablo III Patching Errors Feb 13, 2013, 12:12 Ripperjack

Indeed. Diablo III has no soul. It's just Blizzard milking it's franchise for 'mo money.

PoE looks very cool, and sincere, in offering a Diablo experience, without stuffing it's hand down your pants and yoinking out your wallet.

The beauty of the business model is that I know I can come back anytime I want, the downside of the business model is that I know I can come back anytime I want....

Yes, but...

Unlike the lazy Blizzard devs, who slap on a new colour palette to an existing boss, and shovel it out the door as your next expansion, the GW2 guys have to work for your return business. Since it costs you nothing, to NOT play the game, you have little reason to return if you're burnt out.

Creston wrote on Jan 15, 2013, 13:48:
...I love that this is an MMO you can just put away for awhile without some fucking corporate asshat charging your CC $15 every month you're not playing.

Indeed. It's nice not feeling forced to play a game, just to get my $15 per month, monies worth!

Putting this on my "Wait for Steam Sale" list.

Not worth the $9.99, more like $4.99.

oking about the arrogance of releasing DLC for a game which is not yet officially released.

Well at least they arn't trying to hide it, with a bunch of EA style bull$#!t spin.

I'd rather have a 30 day money back guarantee for a crappy game, than the ability to resell them. I'd even settle for a modest 10% restocking fee deducted.

If that was the case, then I wouldn't keep any games that I buy. With the exception of GW2, I'd hand back games in a heartbeat.
