Are you talking about joint ops by novalogic?

Combined Operations is a $10-more package deal with ArmA 2 and Operation Arrowhead in one box.
Sorry, I thought that joint ops was combined operations, not combined arms.

We actually had them here in Minnesota until around 1983 or so. Then Super America or Holiday bought them up or something. Damn them!!! The last time I had a slurpee was in Colorado on my honeymoon 7 years ago. It was a mountain dew slurpee in a glow in the dark hulk cup. Ahh.... Good times.

I don't think that there will be a lean function again in a FPS until there are two more buttons on a controller.

This reminds me of when you had to command your harddrive to park its head before you turned off the computer so you wouldn't damage the drive if it was moved.

I can't find Civ IV for $3. Can you please post a link.

Just center the mouse to stop moving. It should be pretty simple, and you get the added advantage of being able to press more buttons at the same time than a 'game' controller.

Yikes. Trust me, that doesn't work well at all. Refer to Dark Void's flight controls for a good example of this. Or Alpha Protocol's hacking minigame. Having to recenter the mouse to stop moving is just way too imprecise and slow.

So, at least it has been tried.

Left mouse for movement, crouch, prone.

How would that work? With an analog stick, you just hold it forward and your character keeps moving forward. That doesn't work so well with a mouse.

Well, I was just throwing ideas out there. I guess it would kind of work the same way as the analog stick. Just center the mouse to stop moving. It should be pretty simple, and you get the added advantage of being able to press more buttons at the same time than a 'game' controller.

Anybody thought about using two mice for games?

Left mouse for movement, crouch, prone.
Right mouse for pretty much what it's used for currently.

This way all fingers have a control and you have 'analog' movement control.

..trust me, you are not alone.

Like I mentioned before.. people who claim they are "actually more accurate" with a gamepad have either too dull a brain to realize that's called the 'auto-aiming' feature, or it's a form of ignorant console-fanboism, or they've never tried the M/KB combination. Or a combination of the above.

I was thinking the other day. What if the right analog stick on the controller was actually a track ball? I think that I might be able to use a game pad for aiming then.

It kind of looks like a netbook, with game controls as well as a keyboard.

They have a wiki. I like what it has for hardware.
