Well to start with even if you pay the normal full monthly of $15 a month you STILL don't get full access.
Secondly you can't even Zone talk to group or find a group.
Also I have no idea what you mean about not being able to wear the best gear, everyone bailed after the first day, becasue it sucked so bad.
Hey don't get me wrong I have a lot of nostalgia for EQ and EQ2, was thrilled at the thought of running around there again. The list of problems is just too DAMN long to list honestly. You might consider playing a more realistic F2P like LotR, hell even Runes of Magic and Requiem Bloodlymare are much better. |

| Not free to play at all. They have been desperately sending out free week of play Emails, to previous players trying to get anyone to play. Not sure if this so called F2P or the utterly ridiculous eq2 F2P is worst. |

| Iirc they already had the design document for Vegas, as it was both left out of Fallout 2 and the original Top Down Fallout 3 (Jefferson). This helped them with the short development time compared the the 4 or so years and budget Bethesda's Fallout 3 got. |

Gratz xXBatmanXx!
I prefer emulators but for those that want the old hardware (and serious issues of compatibility/drivers autoexec and config files) FreeDOS 1.0. Iirc m$ isn't to eager for people to keep using DOS since it's much easier to hack with. |

Any experienced Win 7 users give me a bit of advice on partitions?
Always used a custom install of WinXP to put Documents & Settings and Program Files on a D: partition. To keep all the Savegames many developers dump there from fragmenting my OS partition.
Tried to Google this a bit, having no luck finding out if this is an issue with Win 7. Is it a good idea to make a custom install for Win 7 as well, to move the directories off the C:?
Thanks for any tips. |

Jonny5 from what I hear, even the most powerful PCs are being brought to their knees during Rift events, especially 50+ players. So depending on what/where your having issues, don't expect much help during those. Turning off Shadows is usually the easiest way to reduce excessive load or reducing texture quality.
So looking forward to trying this game, damn PC hardware issues for the last several months conspire to stop me. Sadly the last sale price GameStop seems to have ended.
Anyone know if they have any sales to coincide with the Trial?

PropheT wrote on May 9, 2011, 15:53: Fallout 3 was far, far better than New Vegas in my opinion actually, and I never had the game breaking bugs I had with NV. ....... I don't know of anyone else's games that you buy that guaranteed to be as broken as theirs are on release. How long did Bethesda have to develop Oblivion, compared to Obsidian on NV?
Secondly did you notice the difference Obsidian actually tried to make quests with choices that matter? Also do you have any idea how much work, quests that actually effect the world take to test.
If you really prefer Bethesda's brand of Hollow quests and Dialogs, then you probably just aren't a fan of RPGs, maybe action RPGs are more your style.
Do you actually complain there aren't enough RPGs to play? Then blame the developer when they are only given the same amount of time it takes to make an action RPG, like Creston? |

Creston wrote on May 9, 2011, 14:16: Aren't you ever going to stop dragging up that tired old "they never had enough time to finish it" argument? Sega delayed AP by like a YEAR, and it was still buggy as fuck. Yes, those darn factual statements always get in the way. What does delaying the game have to do with it, do you have any idea why the game wasn't ready and delayed?
Yes. Quests not working, not being able to be finished and flat-out breaking savegames were all because the engine was buggy. The engine decided "you know what? Fuck this quest with the bomb and the monorail. If players don't finish it EXACTLY in this order, I'm going to just randomly fuck over savegame data." No way Obsidian was to blame for that. No obviously the amount of time given to develop a time has a direct correlation to the condition of the game. How about this, you give a SINGLE verifiable example of Obsidian fucking off, not working their asses off. Then maybe those Ho Hum annoying facts like "not given enough time" won't stand up any more.
FFS, the length of trouble you go to to put up excuses for them is going even BEYOND fanboy worship. Uh huh, just keep telling yourself that, I'm sure it will come true one of these days.
Actually realizing RPGs like the ones Obsidian usually make are the most difficult games to make and TEST, due the massive number of possibilities. Now if you call acknowledging reality fanboy worship and beyond, then so be it. However it sounds much more likely your missing data in your analysis.
Maybe if they got DNF-like development time, they could ever ship a game that's not so buggy? Creston Yes, good thinking. |
