I played Malkavian my first time through this game without any experience with this specific set of RPG rules... It was AWESOME. I remember having full-on conversations with inanimate objects, like a stop sign.
It's not the rules, for the Malkavian as I mentioned. It's the understanding the choices since it uses favor/factional scores. I would be completely surprised (I'm using the most pleasant word) if ANY one could play the Malkavian with no experience to get Jeanette and Threse to Reconcile. Actually I might use the word impossible.

I am impressed they are still at it... but that's all

No amount of new content is gonna make me replay... that's assuming it even runs on Windows 7 with latest drivers (for me, it didn't)
I'm surprised there are hundreds if not thousands of players since the Steam release, who've been a big help trouble shooting problems. Not only does it run well in Win7 (I'm using 64bit) the Highrez patch kicks ass. Guess it could be a video card or mulitprocessor issue. Hard to know without more info but the offical forums are what I call busy. Especially compared to the first five years we worked on it, not to mention Steam forums.

One of the best RPGs ever and in most top ten lists. Troika made an amazing distinct cast of NPCs, voice talent, dialog, music and animation. There is essentially a tutorial and six acts, including four city hubs, a Confrontation and a Resolution. Each of the six acts is about 16% of the game and tutorial is about 4%.

There is an overly long sewer run and gun at the end of the third hub MQ (5%). Think of it as three levels, which you can exit and restock after each level. During the final Resolution two factions must be taken out (10%), since they don't play nice with each other. All in all the forced combat only accounts for about 15% of the game. Includes six possible endings, iirc.

Iirc, in the first city/hub there is only one SQ with a fight related to Kuei-jin you can't talk or sneak past. You don't have to do any quest except the MQ to progress to the next city/hub. You can wait to do any SQ after you build up some skills. In the second hub no fights in the MQ, a couple unavoidable in SQ.

Obviously you need the put points in the appropriate skills whether it be Persuade, Intimidate, Seduce, Sneak or Obfuscate. If you don't know about WoD vampires, don't pick Nosferatu (can't been seen in public for the most part) or Malkavian (won't understand the dialog choices). Though these two are the only ones with Obfuscate. Sneak skill is very powerful but can be seen through as can Obfuscate with high level enemy Auspex (sight).

KOTOR 4 ( set 200 hundred years in the future) could bypass, the KOTOR (giving them 100 to 150 years for their game) 3 blockade .

Arkane deserves the praise, success and Dishonored being a hit. Too bad Valve canceled, Return to Ravenholm. Here's hoping ZeniMax Media nurtures their talent, instead of a company like ea who would turn it to generic console crap.

As part of the dev team for City of Steam, I find it quite annoying to always hear "clone" thrown around so easily. CoS is our original IP, based of a series of pen&paper role-playing book penned by our Lead Designer, Dave Lindsay, titled The New Epoch.

You can also see 50+ Dev Journals detailing our development progress as well as polls and extras in the forum that have driven the design and outcome of the game.

I assure you CoS is quite different and very fun even in CBT. Grab yourself a key for CBT mid next month. We're an indie team and proud of our accomplishments. It will definitely redefine browser gaming.
Thanks for the info and the work. There can never be enough indie developers, yet one publisher is too much. I'll look for some other videos.

Anyone know anything about this, can't get the video to play on the Home page. There is a nasty looking script according to Web of Truth (WoT) which looks like it might be required to watch the videos. I'll try youtube again, earlier it seemed crashed, maybe down due to the storm.

Only if you consider a User score of 87, for 12 year old game, as really bad. Vampire the Masquerade: Redemption

These guys and gals are one of the few developers EVER, that used there own money to make a patch for their game, because activision are a bunch of freaking ouchbags and wouldn't pay for a much needed patch. And still TO THIS DAY, they built the best example of Masquerade PnP computer multiplayer game.

Nihilistic Software's Vampire: The Masquerade -- Redemption Post Mortem

Irrc, they said Ghost was a very good game and personally I would take Nihilistic's word over blizzard, any day.

Actually you've been making poor decision for years. And yes it could even be considered stupid to ignore a current game like rage which had potential for modders to fix all the screwed up designs. For a 10 year old rehash game of doom3 which breaks most(all?) mods.

I know this will be a little hard for you to grasp, but you ever considered asking the FANS WHAT THE F, they want?

Of course the multiplayer hasn't been in development for 5 years.

This makes three games developed in the cycle Infinite, Multiplayer and Industrial Revolution. The game sadly seems to be limited in almost every aspect, by 7 year old console hardware.

Too bad, Infinite wasn't worthy or good enough for 2k on it's own.

The only redeeming quality I see in Infinite is going to be the story, atmosphere and the acting. I have a sinking feeling it has been extremely consolized in gameplay, graphics and physics. So this will probably be the first Levine story based game, I don't get day one.

2k is probably betting they can get enough console sales, they don't care about quality. Just as they did in Bioshock 2, rush it out to make a profit, instead of a AAA hit.

Bleeding sales, 2k the next ea.

From a physics standpoint, the rails are simple. The player attaches to a static, non-kinematic rail and moves in a set trajectory at a set speed along that rail. It's really not complex at all because there aren't a lot of variables involved. GTA4, Read Redemption Redemption and Max Payne 3 have to do more complex physics calculations and those were all designed for consoles. The skylines in Infinite are essentially rollercoasters. There's nothing dynamic about them at all. The only thing the player can do is attach and detach from them.
That would be pretty insane if the rails did move. Sure, of course their static, but it's still highly physics based calculations over extremely large areas.

I haven't heard a single good thing about multiplayer (coop doesn't count obviously) in any of those games, on console. Except it exists. Why would anyone play multiplayer on a console instead of a PC. Saying something is good on a console is like saying something was good on PC 10 years (scale is really about 6) ago. In gta4 was the first to have 16 iirc, but we had 16 back in 1995 or so. I just don't get how the console limitation isn't a factor. They would have to reduce the graphic quality and special effects, so much it would look like a 2001 game.

Not to mention most PC players go out of their way to turn off Autoaim. Hell people complained about GTA4 and MP3 on PC. Guess we will see, soon enough. Despite your optimism and rosey glasses, there's no way in hell it will work, much less well, on a console.

They still have paypal open on their page, and for a limited time, all the kickstarter rewards are choices there too I think.

It would be great if they leave the paypal up, with rewards till they ship.
