Good maybe they will make real RPGs where it's about the player and player choices, not forced to play someone else, then take sides based on false narrative.

Venetica is a finished released game from Europe, but hasn't been released in the US yet (well afaik). I'm guessing it's something to do with contract disputes or maybe bankruptcy issues, economy has been a bitch.

DTP, the maker of that game, has gone bankrupt in 2012 right near the release of Venetica in Germany ;p That aside, it's also a completely shit game.
Thanks for the infos, though I disagree with it being complete shit.

Anyone give us an update on Venetica, why it's been almost a year since it was Greenlighted and still no release?

Thanks

Uplay is pretty non-invasive after you login the first time, it just automatically launches and runs in the background once you start to play the game. It at least provides some services for Far Cry 3 including the social challenge missions, but you can always choose to run it in offline mode. ...
I do have mine set to Offline, it still forces me to log into uplay. Then the pcrap even pops up a prompt, every time I quit the game, to tell me thanks for playing.

uplay was the only thing, giving me second thoughts about SPSoT.

Maybe cause I am just getting up - but how is that sticking it to UPlay? Lots of games don't use it.
ubi has been forcing it on games even on Steam, so we are forced to double login. Far Cry 3 is the only ubi game with this service crap service, I couldn't refuse to buy. Nor do they seem to give achievements to Steam.

Did you know it even forces you to install punkbuster, without your knowledge or permission even if your only playing, single player. Not only does it not tell you it was installed, when you uninstall Far Cry 3, it leaves it installed on your system.

Can you prove any of what you just said?
No, do the majority of WoW players run 64 bit OS?

Half their customers? Where did you get that number from? According to the recent Steam Hardware and Software survey 21% of Windows users run a 32 bit OS. 74% are running 64 bit.

Also remember that this game is being released for the PS4, so they probably came to the conclusion that the 21% of PC gamers isn't enough to change their technology to accommodate them. In the next few years that 21% will likely dwindle to a point that all games will be developed for 64 bit OS.
The numbers are just my experience, good point about the PS4. I see a big difference between a game on Steam and low end mmogs. As an example, the main reason WoW has been able to get their numbers are the low system requirements. It's a bad thing, anytime you limit your customer base in business, especially what SOE has been doing.

Really, what group of gamers is looking for a pixelated WoW builder clone that only runs on 64 bit?

You mean a majority of gamers and professionals use a 64bit OS? Come on, going 64bit has been the trend since 2002 and if you didn't see it coming you're either blind, or ignored the writing on the wall. We're at the limit for 32bit, as such there's no point in writing things for it unless it's legacy required.

And let's be realistic, 32bit had a hell of a shelf life. Being that it was pushed into hard service in ~1988.
Maybe I made it sound like I didn't use or appreciate 64 bit? Right, in my experience only hard core gamers or computer system knowledgeable people use or know to get 64 bit. Obviously you guys know there are Win 7 & Win 8 32 bit OS.

I really don't mean to freak you guys out, but there's a whole world out there, who are not consumed by hard core games!

Acleacius, what's the aversion to a controller? How do you play racing games on a keyboard? Twin-stick shooters? Fighting games?

If you don't play any of those, then just say "there are genres that I refuse to play", dont blame a game on being designed around a specific controller. I switch between m/kb and controller, depending on what suits the game better. Sometimes in the same game, mostly open world games.

The controls aren't poorly designed, your CHOICE of input is poorly suited. There's a difference. Don't cry about losing the indy500 when all you brought was a speedboat.
Lmao, indy500, do I have to chew tobacco and use a controller? Cowboy

There are lots of games with poorly designed M&K controls, they are called bad ports. Racing games?..I haven't played many Racing games per say...driving games on the other hand, no problem at all. WTH are Twin-stick shooters?

I don't get your point here, can't think of any genres I exclude specifically...well except any game 'only' on console. Of course I don't play every game, mostly RPGs which inherently take 2 to 3 times longer, than other games. On the console, none...nor any game that requires a controller. I play games, where friends use controllers and I will use my M&K. My Trackman, might be considered cheating from a regular mouse. The only physical movement is the thumb, no wrist, elbow or forearm locomotion required.

There are games I would like to play, such as RDR or TLoU. There's no way I would go out and buy a console to do it. To each his own, but I refuse to financially support m$'s corruption, of game development. Since about 2000, they've dumped more than 9 billion making console exclusives. Paying off designers, forcing them to undercut development time by at least 1/3. Since then almost all the shovelware to AAA titles pushed out in broken, buggy and incomplete, can be laid at their feet. m$ has even admitted they did it, so don't pretend it didn't happen. Hahaha_no

Best of luck, it sounded like a great story and premise, dragged down by crappy console gameplay design.

What I read, you need a controller to play otherwise get ready to be frustrated. Since I don't use a controller ... ever, there's no way I'm paying more than $5 or $10 bucks for poorly designed controls. There's a enough frustration in the world, without paying someone to frustrate me.

I'm not a graphics guru by any stretch, but it looks like to me they are just bleeding color into bloom. You can see it's not more detailed, by looking at the necklace, just color bleed (bloom bleed?).

Too bad it's designed for consoles first, it was a very good game, but would have been great at PC first title.
