News Comments > Halo PC Gold

I've been looking forward to playing this game ever since I first saw the videos for it, way back when it was supposed to be for the PC. I couldn't bring myself to shell out for an Xbox just to play one game, no matter how awesome-looking. I played Halo on the Xbox at a friend's house some and thought it was great, but frankly I couldn't get into playing an FPS with a friggin' gamepad. I need my mouse+keyboard.

So I don't understand all this grumbling about the lack of Co-op. Co-op is great, but frankly I'm thrilled just to be able to play Halo on my PC, like I had originally dreamed of doing. The fact that multiplayer is in there with new weapons or what-have-you is just a bonus for me.

And the incredible thing is that although Halo is however many years old now, technically it's still state-of-the-art. Half-Life 2 will no doubt look even better, whenever it does come out (and I am doubtful it will make it by Sept 30). But Halo looks better than anything on the shelves now. Hardly any games released so far on the PC have had pixel shader effects, bump mapping and so on. For those of us with GeForce 4s and Radeon 9700s and so forth, Halo will be virtually the first game that really stretches the limits of those cards.

I just raise my eyebrows when people complain about "no co-op", Microsoft shennanigans and all that. One of the coolest games ever is *finally* coming to its proper platform! AWESOME! If you can find something to complain about in that bit of news, you've got too much time on your hands.
