Game is actually pretty fun once you figure out a few non intuitive aspects to it.
Wether or not it is worth playing after a month we shall see.

Still no word on improvements to player vrs monsterplayer.
IE the endgame.
But after years since release with no real improvements I dont actually expect anything.

News Comments > LOTRO Welcome Back
4. Re: LOTRO Welcome Back Aug 20, 2009, 18:39 LazyCat

There has been no content updates for player vrs Monsterplay which is the only endgame content. Bugs and server lag issues have been
rising (getting worse) each month. Game play is still horribly skewed to the player side.
Turbine seems to actively encourage exploitation and dishonorable game play.
Few veteran players left playing regularly and what chat there is seems
be waiting for the next game out there. Does not seem to be any hope for any content additions in the future yet either.

These desperate come back and play weekends tend to occur once a month
it seems. And of course when they do there are login ques and even more horrible server lag.

Friggin finally!
I mean this was a no brainer!

As for ati/amd they are working on a combined graphics and cpu combo - APU should be interesting as well.

for a game to be fan supported this many years after the game was released and the company to have disappeared... its a wonder that no other game developer hasn't picked up the rights to make a sequel or two.
I mean don't these companies have any sort of person doing market research?

Knowing Blizzard they will hype and dangle this out in front of everyone for at least a year before bothering to release it.

They are making enough money to be hire enough competent people to put these out every three months.

News Comments > XP on Macs
16. mac os Apr 5, 2006, 11:20 LazyCat

The only good thing about mac osx is the security bit with having to enter administrator passwd to install some software.
Other then that the os is lacking, they nearly force you to use their own crippled and lacking software. 3rd party apps are crippled from their windows and linux versions.
Hell even drag n drop does not work properly.
it no wonder really that they want xp.

30. AVOID demo Mar 31, 2006, 19:33 LazyCat

Avoid!
Demo is faulty, does not run. Just errors out with some missing/unloadable file message.
Tested on multiple machines/configurations. Installer is
also horrible.

I would suggest starting out with a not so massive online game.
IE- What guild wars and DnD online is - a graphical tavern to hang out in while waiting for instanced runs.
KotOR and some of the NWN content was good, so I have some hope.

ebgames /gamestop are tending to drop pc games in favor of console games.
Many places dont give wall space to pc games anymore - just a few racks.
Sad. So few games worth buying anymore - all dumbed down and really short.

PC graphics cards are far more then the dumbed down versions in consoles. Hence you pay more.
When is the last time you saw a console display on a real monitor? It was the Dreamcast- the only one that had vga output. Consoles only need to do maybe 720p res to get so called "high defination video". Real high def is 1920p

From the last test weekend, it was not to bad, a few times had the critters warp to you suddenly bit.
Also mind you there is no "jump" in this game, and the faces
on the characters are not quite as pretty as on other games.(trivial matter really I guess)
Alot of nice character/model animation - antics.
Still quite Beta
