colbert curse is 2 for 2 Spore and NMS. bottom line if a game ends up on colbert it's overhyped.

WTF lets whoever makes those trailers choose such bad music? Bad club trance music is not what most people think of when they think of airshows.

yeah some disconnect there unless the pilots are wearing leather chaps or something.

"At that point, Roberts says he “didn’t want to keep doing stretch goals, because you're just making stuff up that isn't core to what you want.” It wasn’t just Roberts who wanted the stretch goals to stop, as Paul Jones (the art director at CIG’s UK studio) told me. “There was one point when the money was going up so fast and the company was continuing with its policy of stretch goals"

going to call bullshit on this. roberts stated himself that this was his chance to build freelancer the way he wanted it. also roberts YOU are the policy maker. you could have stopped at any time but you didnt. they make it sound like "the company" is some sort of AI making decisions out of their control...

"What we're doing with Star Citizen is not that different from what I pitched for Freelancer in terms of the ambition, the scope, and the living universe. It just never got done [back then].”

and we all know why it didnt get done..

1) Microsoft buying Halo, a PC franchise, then killing it on PC

Halo was originally a mac exclusive and ran on opengl.

Very very chill is code for "won't be fun unless you're blazed out of your skull" the last time I checked.

put Yes's Starship Trooper on repeat. In fact the art has a very 70's prog rock vibe.

yup confirmed NMS is actually a procedural 70's prog band album art generator.

idk if you guys listen to idle thumbs or not but there has been an ongoing discussion about a guy named 'Rob' going back to the TF2 hat days that is now a well known gun skinner. he has made millions and it's facinating and hillarious.

here's a link to the disscusion edited together over many years of episodes. it's a must listen

https://youtu.be/IF52sL2wi1c

and the follow up about the CS:GO skins from the last episode.

The Li-Fi technology used by Velmenni in the pilots is able to send data at up to 1GBps - more than 100-times faster than current Wi-Fi technologies.

Edit: GBps, not Gbps.

I just saw the blurb that they achieved 224GBps in lab conditions, holy hell.

Of course, with this being lightbased, and thus on direct line of sight only, it's going to be extremely limited in possible domestic usage.

True, but it does introduce a pretty neat security caveat being that its line of sight.

seems only practical for 1 way communication. seems that RF would work better for transmitting from our devices as no LoS is really needed. or would we aim our laptop/phone's laser at the optical reciever in the wall?
