This game is dead out of the box. they won't support Linux servers. It'll fade quickly.

PB is the only reason Quake 3 still lives to day.

Never buy a video card before or right when a graphic / processor intensive game comes out. Always wait about 4 - 6 months until newer models run things at a decent FPS. Otherwise you're just a guinea pig.

Plus, PB allows for GUID. Banning by IP is next to useless. Ah well.

What a sappy and pathetic rationalization process. "Waaah, you are saying things I don't like, so I won't buy that game, because you made me think bad thoughts."

Bah, no PunkBuster?

I give it 3 months before cheaters take over the entire game, or sooner.

I tried the demo for this game. It's like controlling ant sized space craft but there is no control. They pretty much fight on their own. Basically, aim ship here, ship fights, dies, rinse, repeat. The graphics aren't even impressive - I've seen recent arcade style games that have better graphics - like Starscape http://www.moonpod.com - at least with that game you control the ship.

I just found Homeworld 2 to be a vast boring, nothingness, no frills, space-non-adventure.

If you want to convert them to video painlessly, I suggest fraps - works great:

Forget consoles, the best arcade games are already available for PC.

Mutant Storm and Space Tripper:

It doesn't matter. Relying on DX 9 is a total sell-out to MS. What about Linux and Mac clients? At least Carmack is going through the extra length of trying to make Doom 3 compatible with all major modern graphics cards and platforms. What is Valve doing about this?

HL1 was okay (Quake 1.5 engine). This HL2 direct X only nonsense just screams sell-out. The failure of Steam isn't exactly helping things either.

I think we are all looking at this the wrong way.

Doom 3 does so much better with all graphic cards
and made with Open GL (not sold out to MS). Does
this send a different message to us gamers?

Some gamers I notice are wise enough to see the
actual truth - beyond the hardware spec wars:

Valve = ATI / MS (DX 9) sell out.

ID Software = Cares about gamers and will support
any cross-platform, cross-hardware equipment.

For intense multiplayer, all a person ever needs is Quake 3 DM/CTF - and all of its mods. There's no way this game will be as intense or fun as Quake 3 - no game ever is.

As Thresh has said:

"So what does Quake 3 give you? It's quite simple: the utter refinement of deathmatch, and the ultimate multiplayer shooter experience - nothing more, nothing less."

http://firingsquad.gamers.com/games/q3/verdict.asp?page=&check=1

So I ask you, why buy Halo game if it has no co-op?

We need to clone Thomas Jefferson to make America a great country again. He was the best politician/philosophy of our nation.
