31. BTW....Nice Demo Oct 15, 2006, 11:11 Rocket

I thought the demo was pretty good. Reminded me of a combination of Max Payne and Killzone. Max, because of the controls and Killzone, because of the way you use cover.

It is quite fun, though short. Graphics are decent and control is tight. I would definately buy it at a decent price ($20 or $30). Worth a try, it's only 187 megs.

15. arrow controls Jun 15, 2006, 00:10 Rocket

Hey Abductee,
I also use the arrow keys for movement and couldn't re-bind them in the control screen. I tried them and they DID work. You can't re- bind them to anything else, but they do control Lara by default.

I guess Duke Nukem Forever won't be the first shooter based in Vegas. I bet 3DRealms is pissed.

3. Sound problems Feb 9, 2006, 17:14 Rocket

Liked the demo, good thing it had subtitles, because half of the dialogue I couldn't hear. The game itself is like "The Longest Journey" meets "Harry Potter". I might pick it up. Anybody else have sound issues?

I know what you mean about choppiness, I found choppiness on the 'options' menu when I first started. Then I restarted my computer and for some reason everything went smooth. The gameplay was typical FPS stuff...the 'timeshift' options were decent, I like the blur effect. Very short demo. Nothing spectacular but seems decent. I'd buy it when it dropped to 20 or 30 bucks.

13. could not initialize sound card Oct 7, 2005, 11:54 Rocket

The screen goes black, I hear music, then I get that error message "could not initialize sound card".
Well, I have onboard sound and I've never seen that message. Anyone else have that problem?

I enjoyed the Total Overdose demo more than SS2. It was OK, the mouselook felt awkward, some enemies were annoying. I won't be buying until bargain bin. Downloading BIA demo now. Great week for demos. Quake 4 demo anyone????? Pleeeeeeease!!!!

25. Better than 77.72 Aug 12, 2005, 18:29 Rocket

With 77.72 drivers installed, all my games worked fine except Half Life 2. When I ran HL2, I got a video error.
77.77 drivers solved that problem, and they benchmark the same. So far, so Good.

4. Stuck at beginning of demo.... Oct 20, 2004, 20:28 Rocket

First off... the graphics and game look very promising. Problem for me is that I got stuck on that ledge right at the beginning and I keep getting eaten by the giant eel. I checked the readme file and I can't figure what to do.

31. DVD CD/RW Combo $39.99 Oct 5, 2004, 10:37 Rocket

Hey great deal! DVD CD/RW Combo drive for $39.99 from newegg.com and they threw in a 50 pack of blank cdr's for free. Cheap shipping too. Everything works flawlessly and I have no coasters yet. Bought it a month ago but I'm sure they have similar prices on them now, if not cheaper.

24. Fun! Can't Wait!! Sep 13, 2004, 15:20 Rocket

Loved the demo, surprised nobody has compared it to Project of Eden with the robot setting and being able to change between robots. As soon as I started it reminded me of Eden. But I guess not many played it. Demo did make you want more, controls were great and I found the keyboard and mouse better than a gamepad for flying. Story seems original and interesting. Surprised to hear about some people's performance issues. I didn't chug once at 1024x768 on high settings on my mid range:XP2400, 768 pc2100ram and 5900xt.

Anybody else get a hard lock within the first 30 seconds of gameplay everytime? It also ran like crap for me and I can play Doom 3 at 1024 at medium just fine.

5. Delayed til Fall? Jun 17, 2004, 12:22 Rocket

Hmmm... This title will sell better with Doom 3 and Half Life 2 on the same shelf? Don't think so.. I got money to spend now, but I won't when I buy HL2 and D3 AND a new vid card.
