I wish the "click the block to remove it" physic puzzle flash game fad would end. It's almost as bad as the tower defense fad.

They made the deal and now they get to pay. Oh well.

Garriot actually seems pretty nice in person but his last string of games have lacked. I wish he'd either make a log or get off the pot. Other designers are waiting for their chance while he's farting around.

Cool video.

Azmodan's face looks like a cross between frog and vagina. I guess it's supposed to be scary, but it's not doing it for me.

It's still a cool video though.

The anti-emoticon crowd in that last article might as well be yelling "get off my lawn".

Deeply offended, really? For slapping a at the end of a Facebook message? Sorry lady, Twitter, Facebook, etc. all have character limits. You do what you have to in order to conserve space. They're not for writing novels.

I hope he adds in some survival mode gameplay. Right now it's way too easy to survive.

Sounds okay.

And even if it isn't there isn't anything to be done about it anyway. It's not like game development is a democratic process.

I'll just cross my fingers and hope for the best.

The CNN article could have been summed up with "I got mine, what's your problem, hippie?" It would have been more true to what the author was basically saying.

From the reviews I read it looks like id Software has released another game engine demo that calls itself a game - just like they always do.

That's a pretty wild take on id's history.

Not really.

Id is last to innovate on gameplay and (by reputation) first to innovate on graphic engines. Look at old forum posts and you'll see the exact same complaints made about pretty much every id release since Quake.

Half Life? That could have been id, but no - that's outside their little run-n-gun bubble. Bioshock? No, that's outside their bubble too. None of the groundbreaking games have come from id for years now.

I'm not revising history here.

But I'm not trying to start a pointless argument either. If you like id games and the style of gameplay they have, awesome. More for you, okay?

It's all good until you launch a turd, Bioware. Then you can kiss it goodbye. No company sells themselves to EA and continues to make good games for more than a few years.

Marketing hucksters label "eras" so they can make people feel like their already-purchased (and perfectly fine) products are "out of date" and therefore in need of replacement. Meh.

So... Useless sound card article was useless. It doesn't do any measurable tests. It's just some guy going "I think..." and then offering unsubstantiated opinions. I could have read that in any forum.

News Comments > Skyrim Voice Cast Announced
20. Re: Skyrim Voice Cast Announced Sep 27, 2011, 12:14 Silicon Avatar

Heh.

When the last game came out people complained that there weren't enough voice actors and all the NPCs sounded the same and were poorly acted.

So now Bethesda hires pros and people are complaining that the voice actors are "too famous" or they should have spent their budget elsewhere.

Really, guys?

I think streaming video got good enough that I don't need a demo anymore. I can go to Youtube and see someone play a game from start to finish.

With demos I only get to see the part the developer wants me to see.

I can only assume the author of this article is trolling.

I usually find 1st person games easier than those with a fixed camera, for what it's worth. It's way easier to exploit stupid AI in game where you can climb over everything and kill stuff from 7 screens away (AKA: the Fallout 3 example he keeps referencing)..
