If that PR guy were smart he'd start his own "bad boy" gaming site and make a living off of trolling gamers. Set up some ads on that site and watch the cash roll in. The last laugh would be his.

I wish more games like this would bring back the ability to import old saves. Then your actions really could affect the long term outlook of the game world.

Some of the DLC are pretty good and they're 75% off on Steam right now. Even the crap ones are worth a dollar or so.
I hear Old World Blues is the best, but I haven't finished that one yet. I liked the Sierra Madre one (Dead Money) pretty well. The others were pretty good too, but I bought them on sale, so my expectations were not outrageous.

Creston I figured that the patches were done when the last DLC came out.
I'd call the current version stable - for an Obsidian game.
There's still micro-stutter (use the 4gb enabler mod to get rid of it) and numerous glitches (use the error corrections mod to get rid of those) but..
Well, there's no but. It's an Obsidian game. It's as stable as Obsidian games get.
I still play it though. If you mod it enough it looks pretty good and doesn't crash that much.

All I got out of the article was that some app developer got butt-hurt because some other app developer cloned his unoriginal crap game idea. Then he spawned a drama and made up a bunch of LOL about how the whole industry was going to collapse.
I guess he's new and missed the past 30-40 years worth of game clones.
Admittedly I skipped past some bits because the article is TLDR and an obvious bid by some Guardian editor to sound like an industry analyst/editor.

Except for one problem - entry-level people in IT are just that... entry level. Their level of applicable skills are limited, and can typically be replaced at will. It's because so many people could do their jobs that they get paid as low as they do.
That being said, once they're on the job a couple of years and develop specific skills, their pay starts climbing pretty quickly, but the problem for people seeking employment in that sector is that surviving those first 2-5 years can be quite unpleasant. I don't know if you've looked at "entry level" IT jobs lately, but the ones I've seen are not wanting "entry level" qualifications. They want a bachelor's degree to install Windows anymore. It's ridiculous. Companies like that get what they deserve.

Kenneth Weiss misses the point. Picture authentication is to keep your family member out of your account. It's not to secure military installations...

EA has a longer history of ruining games than Activision does. I sort of hope they lose.
At the same time a lot of people are employed by EA and I'd hate to see them take such a hit that they had to fire people. |

So a surgeon takes a pen out of a patient's stomach and thinks to himself "Huh, wonder if this still writes?"
I think the worst part of that story is that she swallowed it 25 years ago and was unable to convince her own doctor (or husband) that she'd done it until now.

Whiterun has a little building in it that must have geometry out the wazoo (or some other mistake) because when I remove the building I get an extra 10 fps in that area.
All the other areas in the game run smoothly.
I had to run the 4gig aware program for Fallout New Vegas to get rid of micro-stutter, but Skyrim doesn't have that problem for me which is a very welcome improvement. |

I noticed Geneforge saga was $10.
If anyone else is into those I've heard they are pretty good.
They're really old school style RPGs so check screen shots before you buy. A lot of people will probably be put off by the graphics.
Avadon is on sale. Same publisher. Similar style.
