Oh no. PC is dying again.

I swear I could pull out a 1989 Computer Shopper and probably find a story that said PC was sinking.

I actually plan to check out Shadowrun in a year or so after people have had time to really get into the editor.

I almost bought it on Steam the other day but then someone said it had some weird NES throw-back saving scheme. I need to save where I want to save so I can fit gaming into my own schedule.

I don't have a big problem throwing $25 at a KS. If it blows up and I get nothing I will gripe but not that much.

I just wasn't that interested in Police Quest.

I don't blame developers for wanting fans to put up or shut up but I don't blame fans for holding on to their cash either. Banks are supposed to help with that but when you are betting your house on the fickleness of fans that is a huge deterrent. It's not like opening a hot dog stand.

I thought most people bought Ouya to tinker with it. Maybe in a year someone will come up with a cool thing you can do with it.

Being able to run over to a UPS store to have something printed sounds kind of cool. I'm really looking forward to affordable home units. When they start getting around $500 for a reliable model then I'll probably get one.

The game industry doesn't need pro commentary. That's the real thing. If they don't yell and scream they don't have a show - because anyone can play a game and have an opinion about it. Devs talk directly to people through social media now. Game commentators and journalists seem unnecessary 75% of the time. The only time they're useful is when they can get into an industry show and then actually do a good job of reporting on it (and good reporting at those things is very rare).

I didn't know overclocking was even that big of a deal anymore. I can't remember the last time a game maxed out anything on my computer.

Love the comments in the article deriding him. And one guy actually proving how he's been nothing but bad for MS. Like I always say, Forbes voted him worst CEO of all time for many reasons. The saddest part is they could have easily been the biggest most powerful corporation in the world otherwise.

I agree about Ballmer, but MS is making hella profit. Not sure why exactly.

MS makes hella profit because they have a thousand irons in the fire. Surface RT blows? Oh well, every business in the country is still buying Office 2013. They can afford to fail a whole product cycle and then redo it as a win the next go around.

Truthfully it can only be better than the mucked up game that was Star Control 3 (if you haven't played it just skip it - SC2 was the best one by far). SC3 was a pale imitation made by a different group - and it showed.

Agree.

I just can't see Stardock getting this right. All their games are Excel spreadsheets with graphics. Granted, I liked Gal Civ 2, but it's a far cry from Star Control's awesome action combat, quirky weapons, and surprisingly good story..

I couldn't bring myself to put $3 down for it. I don't need photorealistic graphics but I am so over the "retro" style, the blocky style, and whatever else. Indie is not an excuse to make things that look like shit.

For $3 that is what you get. If you want glistening abs then the entry fee is $60.

I'm not sure about Star Control and Stardock. I don't think they have the right quirky humor for it.

As smart as they're supposed to be, I'm surprised he didn't recognize her trying to help. Maybe he just wanted a break between pullings...

Porcupine quills have barbs, so it probably hurt like a mofo coming out. I thought it did pretty well for a raven.

I almost bought stuff yesterday but decided to wait. Today I got Xcom for $12 with 2 DLC. I picked up FTL for cheap too, but opted out of Terraria and the Binding of Isaac.

Terraria looks fun but it also looks like a huge time sink ala Minecraft. One MC addiction was enough thanks. I realized Binding of Isaac just wasn't my thing after watching a Youtube play through. It looked fun, it just wasn't really what I thought it was.

Indies could be around for a long time. It just depends on how they manage themselves. If they get one hit and think every game is going to repeat that then they'll run through their money and go otu of business. If they're smart and keep a low cost profile then they could last a really long time and survive lean years and some flops.

I'm thinking about getting Terraria, The Binding of Isaac, XCOM: Enemy Unknown, and FTL: Faster Than Light. It's 4 games for less than $35 and that seems like a good deal.
