I thought it looked cool. I'll give it a shot. I don't care if he's got an Australian accent or not.

Man views porn. Looks for way to get money for nothing.

Sometimes I think there ought to be an IQ limit for hiring a lawyer.

Woman pulls porcupine quills from raven's face.

As smart as they're supposed to be, I'm surprised he didn't recognize her trying to help. Maybe he just wanted a break between pullings...

Porcupine quills have barbs, so it probably hurt like a mofo coming out. I thought it did pretty well for a raven.

News Comments > Steam Summer Sale Begins

I almost bought stuff yesterday but decided to wait. Today I got Xcom for $12 with 2 DLC. I picked up FTL for cheap too, but opted out of Terraria and the Binding of Isaac.

Terraria looks fun but it also looks like a huge time sink ala Minecraft. One MC addiction was enough thanks. I realized Binding of Isaac just wasn't my thing after watching a Youtube play through. It looked fun, it just wasn't really what I thought it was.

Indies could be around for a long time. It just depends on how they manage themselves. If they get one hit and think every game is going to repeat that then they'll run through their money and go otu of business. If they're smart and keep a low cost profile then they could last a really long time and survive lean years and some flops.

I'm thinking about getting Terraria, The Binding of Isaac, XCOM: Enemy Unknown, and FTL: Faster Than Light. It's 4 games for less than $35 and that seems like a good deal.

I'm a backer of Wasteland 2 and I don't get what the big deal is. If I get my game what do I care if Obsidian makes has a distributor? All that means is they'll probably have more sales and more money to make a sequel.

I'm pretty sure it was on Steam too anyhow, so it's not like there aren't alternatives.

Agreed. The word "hack" never had a positive connotation anyway - even before it was grabbed as a moniker for computer nerds who really wanted to sound cool in the 90s.

And cracker? Please. Call somebody a cracker on the street and see what happens...

By 2020 everyone will own some kind of hand held video playing device and they just watch their movies on that. Why watch the crappy in-flight film when you can watch whatever you want preloaded on your iPad 10?

Sometimes when indies make a trailer they need to remember that they are supposed to be showing off features not just running around.

Cube World is going to be the next Minecraft.

Me either. I thought they were moving on to HL2 ages ago.

I have fond memories of Sven Coop though.

It's true, guys. Hardware specs ARE meaningless.

My IBM XT clone is playing Rogue just fine.

I sort of wanted Star Drive but the Metacritic reviews on the user side are either glowing or totally ripping it with little in between. Has anyone here got it and if so is it a good buy or a pass?

I didn't think it came off as whiny. I thought it came off as anger. Obviously Hines knows why the game isn't up to standard and he's pissed about it but for whatever reason can't or won't say exactly why right now.

It seemed kind of fishy to me, which is why I didn't get excited about it. They're undoubtedly going to make a sequel so I really don't have to worry. I have a new Wasteland game coming up to keep me satisfied for a while. It'd be nice if the two games were spaced apart a little.

I'd get all the unofficial NV patch mods for sure.

I also like Nevada Skies.

I also run J.E. Sawyer's mod. I am surprised nobody mentioned it yet. I kind of consider it part of the game.
http://twofoldsilence.diogenes-lamp.info/2012/09/jsawyeresp-v5.html

I have my NV running with a "full screen window" utility that gets rid of micro-stutter and the 4gb extender (to enable more RAM for RAM guzzling texture mods) plus NV FOSE (the script extender).

It took some tweaking to get everything right but now it's great and I'm playing through for the second time. I LOVE the "Old World Blues" DLC.

New Vegas Bounties is pretty fun too.

Note: The mods that turn the city of New Vegas into one huge area almost always eventually caused problems for me and I think I tried them all. Not worth it.

Monster mod is gone from the Nexus but you can probably still find it on sites that are less picky.

If you want to fight a lot look into A World of Pain.

I only ever put in $15 or $20 for Kickstarters and for that amount I have to get a finished product out of it. Ninety bucks to play a crappy alpha? No thanks.

You'd think that MS would backpedal after Sony (the press, and almost every gamer on the internet) repeatedly slammed them but I guess they're just not that bright.
