Ouya could probably carve itself out a little niche in the hobby electronics and educational markets.

I couldn't tell much difference between a DX10 game and a DX11 game and after a while I just stopped paying attention to DirectX in general. It's a background thing and my games are probably going to look the same anyway.

I'm still glad DirectX exists but it's hard for me to get excited about it.

About being whiny or not...

I think people wanted it to be:

"I can share my game library, they can then play a game from my llibrary that I am not playing". (Cool!)

That is it.

Not "They can't play any game from my library when I am playing anything at all.". (Limiting.)

So it works in the world of "I can play something from yours when you are off doing something else in life". (Again Limiting)

Yet it works EXACTLY HOW THEY SAID IT WOULD FROM THE BEGINNING!

It does, which sucks, which is why people are complaining and have been since the beta even started.

But hey, keep yelling, I'm sure somebody is impressed by your all-caps white-knighting of a multinational corporation. They really, really need your support I'm sure.

This is the biggest non-family non-sharing POS that anyone has ever come out with. LOL.

Can two users share a library and both play at the same time?
No, a shared library may only be accessed by one user at a time.

That makes it totally worthless.

I don't really get why DN is still even a valuable franchise. It's a paper-thin plot with nostalgia value for people who probably have kids and don't game that much anymore. Make something else.

Indie games are the future of video games until the indies get big and then it's corporate games part 2 (or 3 or 4). We've already been through this cycle.

Ah 3D movies. Why wouldn't you want to spend 2 hours fiddling with uncomfortable glasses that sort of work and sort of give you eye strain?

ISPs could probably throttle 5% of their customer base and shave off 90% of their traffic. Instead they'll throttle everyone and of course you'll pay more.

I did a few Greenlight voting things and then decided that it was just a grade school popularity contest. You had to be better at marketing than making games to get green lit.

That ESO article was pretty bad. He used a chart with numbers some guy pulled out of his butt, then tore it down. You don't get much more "straw man" than that.

Yeah. It seems like kids end up with the library DVDs a lot and they end up scratched up way before their time. My DVD library doesn't seem to have a longevity problem.

I am not sure I can tell a difference between 4k and 1080p at the distance I usually sit from the TV. I guess I'd have to see it in person. The thing is I just got around to finally getting a decent HD screen last year so I don't plan on reinvesting for a while. I guess by then 4k will be cheap and standard and I won't care.

These things are something I'd really have to try out in person for a few hours to see if my eyes got massive eyestrain just from using them.

That is what I'm worried about more than anything.

Does it have "action" combat like the past few ES games - which plays kind of like an FPS - or is it combat like WoW?

40. Re: Fallout 3 Removes GFWL? Jan 7, 2014, 19:19 Silicon Avatar

There's a mod (Tale of Two Wastelands I think) that connects New Vegas and Fallout 3 together and basically lets you play Fallout 3 with the New Vegas engine. You can go between lands on a train. It works pretty well for how huge it is (there are still bugs). It is a bit of a hassle to install but it's kind of fun to mess around with.

Would be cool if some developers made the full switch to Steam OS and left Windows in the dust, for their upcoming games

Half-Life 3, exclusive to Steam OS. The End.

Seriously.

Some people didn't grow up in the DOS days. Windows and DirectX brought PC gaming to the masses.

DOS Days > All

Loadhigh="hahanoway.sys"

I had like 6 boot options and getting Ultima 7 to run with sound and a mouse driver suckkkked. D:

I laugh at their price. I mean, it's not even in the ballpark.

But maybe the introduction of this model will make the other manufacturers come up with their own "prosumer" models that aren't priced out of reach.
