Replaying the original Unreal now with all sorts of graphics tweaks. If they just remade that game with the Ut2k4 engine I'd possibly consider paying money for it.
What kind of tweaks are avail for the original Unreal? I'm replaying it too for nostalgia :} Just stepping outside and seeing the Vortex Rikers for the first time transplanted me back to 1997 j(or was it '98?) with my Voodoo1 card :O

Heh I was doing some cleaning today and I came across some old games including Daryl F. Gates' Police Quest Collection. I had forgotten about all about the infamous Daryl Gates until I dug that game up. Ahh yes the 90's a time of racial harmony and a kind and gentle LAPD :}

So Jump to Lightspeed is not going to be a massively multiplayer version of XvT but instead carebears in space? There won't be strategic battles between the REbels and the Empire it's just going to be free flight and Fedex missions?

Despite whatever views one have of Daikatana, John Romero did great things for PC gaming
Oh horseshit! Carmack was THE driving force at Id Software, everyone else could've been replaced except for John. He had the mathematical prowess and genious coding skills to build those engines, everyone else was just an artist, level designer, sound engineer etc., who are a dime a dozen in this industry. Even in those days they could've been replaced by anyone else but luck was on their side and they happened to be in the right place at the right time to ride on Carmack's coatails to succcess.
How's that for asskissing?

Well, I got in early on this one
LOL no shit, it's getting out of hand. Every D3 and HL2 news blurb brings all of the nerds out of the woodwork, it's almost as if these games are offering the nerds a free trip to the Bunny Ranch with every purchase of D3 and HL2.
