that ain't the HALF of it dr evil! do you know how much work researching pirating, were one to consider such a thing, takes? AMAZING amounts of time and work (not that i would know). just imagine if such time and energy were put into making a game work on linux!
were i to justify pirating windows (not that i would) it would have nothing to do with linux. there are (i assume) millions of reasons to rip off bill gates that have nothing to do with linux.
i do wish linux was an option for a gamer tho.

disregard above. didn't see the $49 price tag, only read that "free" thing. my eyes can pick out the word FREE in a page containing billions of words. for $49, i'm much less interested if anyone tried it.

and THIS is why tech amateurs like me, who otherwise try to limit themselves exclusively to the open source market, find themselves whoring/pirating windows and avoiding linux. because it takes an IT master to make the god damned thing run a game.
note: this poster would never (publicly) countenance pirating.

i will totally be buying this. bf1942/dc and then bf2 are the greatest squad fps games i've ever played. their usual progression is: GREAT (1942/dc) bomb (bf-v) GREAT (bf2) bomb (bf2142) they are due another GREAT (bf3?)
80 players should be insane.

i want to love this game and be addicted to it. i want to be compelled to rush out to an EB and buy it. not happening though. heartbreaking, i had really high hopes for this one. it's hard to pin down exactly why it sucks so much ass. it's no bf 1942. and it's no bf2. and it is no RTCW ET. the gameplay was subpar, but the graphics were quite nice. no complaints about the eye candy. just about the shitty game itself.

fun game, 300ish megs, 8 person multiplayer. it's not about the racing, it's about the shooting. wouldn't have downloaded it, but my little boy LOVES shit like this.

i kinda gotta agree with ya there...AO actually was (and still is) a fun game. the screens and other media i've seen from AoC look pretty good. not saying i'd buy it when (and if) it ever comes out, but i'd definitely hop on the open beta /trial bandwagon to test drive it. which, if this post is any indicator, will be in 2011.
i like how it doesn't look like a WOW copy.

Halfelf: that was a joke right? mod for a dice/EA BF game? browse thru the current "most popular" list of mod servers for BF2. in BF1942, mods made the game. in BF2 and, i suspect, bf2142, the game is good in spite of zero mod support.
i downloaded wolfenstein ET when i noticed it was free, and was baffled to find myself downloading different custom maps and mini-mods every time i connect to a new server. i forgot what mod support feels like in a game.

why in the fuck do ea/dice want me to give cash to fucking fileplanet to beta their game? i love bf2, i play the hell outta it. i am intimately familiar with every bug, and i play around the bugs (never click the join button. shoot uniforms, not red tags, NEVER ever hit refresh on the favorites menu). do i wanna beta 2142? hell yeah. will i buy it? sure! will i hand cash to some fucking 3rd party fuckface site like fileplanet to beta? of course not. why do any companies sign these exclusive to fileplanet subscribers agreements? it makes me hate those companies. nice one dice and EA. if you can think of any more companies you'd like me to donate cash to so that i may beta your game, you just fucking write it down, wad it up, and wipe your ass with it.
-Innocent Proudly not a fileplanet subscriber.
