It's unfortunate that TR was such a heap of blah..
It thought we were going to have another good MMO on the table. Instead we got .. well fuck, a whole lot of nothing interesting

I really, REALLY wanted to love Eve. it came out for me at a time when I wanted to get into an MMO and had tons of free time. I was also really into the space/sci-fi genre across all my entertainment venues and when i turned to Eve, i was excited.

Then.. I realized that the game to me, was more like work than a game. It took forever to get into the fun, and really.. the fun I found wasn't really fun. Dammit!

So here's to hoping this title gives me something to be excited about. Good fun, faster to the fun than Eve.. but close to the depth.. but not overwhelming!

Endo:

You're right.. my cousin can then take his console game and trade it in.. get 30 bucks back on a 50 dollar game and he's only out 20.. sometimes getting 20bucks worth of entertainment out of it before reselling, other times not.

But as it was next mentioned.. he has that option.. i don't.. which is once again why i take great care in reviewing my PC games before I buy them.

I think we all agree here.. let's start the Bluesnews gamer dev house.. and we'll even allow our games to be resold!

Anyone ever stop to think about who else is hurt by the lack of PC titles?
Ya know.. hardware manufacturers..
tons of players in that arena.
--------------
I would say.. title for title.. PC gamers are much more informed on games than console gamers. That factors in hugely into sales. I know I skipped many titles because of thorough reviews by actual knowledgeable gamers and countless reviews and reads of both the game and the people that make it.

My little cousin buys whatever console game he sees in the store.. so do all his college friends. "looks good.. pick it up".
----------------
Terrible support ='s bad sales.
hello EA.. i'm talking fucking directly to you and damn near every god damn title you fucking touch.

Oh, and I'm still bitter about the whole EA NFL monopoly with Madden.

Resident Evil was the only game to this day where I had to put down the game and step back because I was scared out of my mind.
that stupid zombie breathing noise haunted me for years

I was talking to a fellow nerd coworker last week about MMO's.. and we were naming all of the ones we could think of and talking about certain elements of the games we liked and would steal for a super MMO (bear with me)..
we talked about games we played, games we read about..upcoming games..
we totally forgot about D&D Online.. ouch.

I forgot that this game even existed or still exists.

Jayjay:

Come on.. you can't really think for a moment that the Linux crowd is in any way, shape or form the target audience for this title?
To me this title screams "hey.. remember us, we used to make decent games..please remember us" --if anything.

Over 8 years.. and you think there's any sort of market for this title? Testing the waters perhaps.. but even then, with such an old game in a dying niche? --twitchy FPS's without much content. Don't argue that with part with me.. i'll quote gspy numbers and we'll never get anywhere.

I already had zero hope for this title due to the fact that it won't bring a damn new thing to the table as far as MMO's and the superhero theme goes..
Now.. now... I don't care one bit about this title.

good luck, with your shallow game and idiot design director.

Don't quote me on this.. but I think I had Q3 about.. 8 years ago? I too don't see the appeal for this title nor the reason why they even made it.

What was that old turn-based RTS'ish/strat game with the WW2 guys that had to infiltrate the german camps?
You picked your guys before the mission.. had to find the right guys, not get spotted. etc.. fun stuff.
can't recall the name though.

I'd like another one of those games.

back on topic:
Company of Heroes is a damn solid RTS from top to bottom.. blew me away with how damn good it was.

That Champions Online interview is wholly useless.. and once again cements the fact that this game is nothing more than 90% build your character and 10% game play.
That interview is an embarrassment to interviews everywhere.

Lots of units to use here.. lots.
I tried the Empire side.. I really havent got a handle on them yet.. the Russians though.. good god I kill the computer with the Russians.

One thing I noticed that VS the Russians.. they use that tractor beam thing an awful lot and it's hard to find where it's hitting your team when you're spread out all over the battlefield. The computer really uses their extra weps/super weps an awful lot.. wish there was a way i could throttle it back

Vs the Allies, they love to use aircraft to attack you often.

I've played about 5 games so far (not much).. but i really enjoyed how the Russian side played more than the others.

Back to playing.. this time.. Russian vs Empire!

They had too many servers at launch.. that is all..
sure they lost a few players, gained some.. but what was that number they posted a few weeks back, something like 500,000 subscriptions or sales?
something like that..which is pretty damn good i'd say

Cock A Doodle Do
"because guess what? It doesn't effect me because I don't troll."

You ever think that someone's legitimate complaint may be thought if as a troll by a moderator and thus deleted and that person ignored forever.. and perhaps that person has a complaint that you also side with.. What if you miss his post and make on yourself, same subject.. Mr. Moderator says "oh, repeat post on a banned topic.. you're out too"

I know that's a weird example, but tell me that it couldn't happen?
Too many "if's" in this scenario that I know I don't like..and I never ever troll.

I still don't understand why they just can't ban the forum retards that are very offensive and wholly useless, from posting.. but leave their game playing ability in tact?

Is it a way to get them to repurchase the game so they can play online?

If so.. i envision a third party workaround being developed so players can play whomever they want without EA's interaction.

Since I never play RTS's online (i suck at them) I am unsure if EA's built in browser is the only way to play multiplayer.. is it? Are there 3rd party programs that allow people to play multiplayer in Red Alert or other EA titles affected by this new banning measure?

Oooh..okay.. so the only way to play with friends in Red Alert 3 is through some EA matchmaking service? Is this correct? So if I make a forum account, then mouth off on the forums.. i can no longer play the game in multiplayer?

Did i get that right?
if so..
why not just ban their ability to forum post forever and call it good at that?

what am I missing here?

You play the same way I do.. except, I suck.. so that's why I play that way.
I do love a symmetrical, aesthetically pleasing defensive setup.

I will be playing it.. but I won't be playing any version that has some stupid anti piracy built in that limits my ownership experience as paying customer.

that's all i have to say about that.
