Ridiculous.. DRM strikes again.
I for one, won't be buying this game now. My coworker (and fellow gaming nerd) wanted to pick this game up, but I just schooled him in on the DRM issues, so now he's out.
He was on his way to the store to put in his money for Warhammer and asked me about Spore.

Not terribly impressed with this movie.
the graphics look dated, the combat seems to be a spray of blood over and over again.. the cannon firing animation looks like something from a class project at a technical school.
Why is this game so hyped up anyhow?

god damn this game is terrible.
It's nothing like i thought it would be -carrying that name and from that studio.
Controls are terrible.
Cam controls wonky.
What I expect to happen and to be able to do in this game I cannot do...and I'm puzzled as to why.
Not worth buying, downloading, reading about.. nada.

What have i missed in the last 3 years that there's bit mentioned about video cards:
"7.1 Audio Channel Support"
huh? So the video cards now have audio built in them?
or what am I missing?

I just wanted to say this ..
I hate Space Siege.
This game is NOTHING like i expected.. the controls are fucking terrible, there's no upgrading stuff/inventory like Dungeon Siege, and so far, there's no party feature.
It should be noted that I didn't read much about the game before it came out, but i thought it would be something like DS in space. What was I thinking???

Re: quake 4+
Is there a huge market for typical run and gun FPS's these days? Look at games like UT3.. and then CoD4 and TF2.. there's a tactical difference that it seems most FPS gamers have migrated to over the last 5+years (starting with BF and CS i'm guessing).
I know that myself, a normal FPS, DM/CTF isn't as fun anymore compared to what i could be doing in another FPS with deeper mechanics.
And I'll end with..
someone make a real sequal to Tribes please...or at the least, another Unreal XMP (but on a better engine)

It would be awesome if they could bring the comic books to "life" in a video game.. but I fear that they won't. Also, so I get to see these heroes and superheroes.. and.. what?
I get the feeling that Champions Online and DC Universe are both going to be as shallow as CoH where the game basically revolved around creating your characters costume and his or her backstory.
I guess I'm spoiled by WoW and everything there is to do in that game. Sure it wasn't in the game at launch, but when you've had years to come up with a competitive MMO to play in the same market as WoW.. you gotta look at what they bring to the table and say that you're going to have as much, if not more.

Was it E3 that cut back the number of fans that could go to the event, or else, cut out fans altogether? I remember something a few years back where a giant gaming convention stop allowing regulars off the street, either in number, or in total from participating.
That couldn't be a good idea.
