i'll say this at the risk of losing a limb, but i've never seen Sunny in Philly before. I know how you guys rave about it. Worth picking up the first season on Netflix? We're right in the middle of the first season of Third Watch and loving it, but i'm always looking for a new show. especially during these slow summer months.

and got my tix last week too. gonna see the 11.30 show this morning. i'm expecting it to be packed. my wife thinks everyone will be wanting to see the abba movie instead. hah!

and the music, while obviously is Billy has more of a "the mark has been made" feel to it. some influence by trent?

anyone ever heard of Pandora Radio? a buddy of mine sent me the link - www.pandora.com and i gotta say that it's pretty frickin cool. i haven't seen any limitations (other than it can't be played on my phone yet), but it's really nifty.

Ok, i've discovered that my company and dell also have an agreement, so we get a discount on pc's. Looks like i'll be able to get bigger for less. woot!

guys, looking for some suggestions.

My son's birthday is coming up in two weeks and he's been pissing and moaning about the 286 we've been making him play his star wars games on for the last two years. Our thought is to find a decent cheapie desktop that has a graphics card compatable enough to play Star Wars Unleashed and all of his other older SW games (he's a SW freak), but also maybe some other shooters. We dont need any peripherals and would like to not spend more than 500-600 bucks. We found one at Frys that needs a graphics card, but it seems decent enough (http://tinyurl.com/6pymza). I've found a few on newegg and know we could probably put one together for a little cheaper, but we'd prefer to just have one prebuilt and avoid the hassle. Any suggestions?

I wrote a paper in college outlining and detailing how Batman could exist in today's society......it was a hard argument, but I got an A.

got it posted anywhere we could read it. that sounds pretty interesting.

Thanks! I've seen a couple of retail handlebar mounts, but they're a bit spendy, and I've already pushed my wife's patience with the recent purchase of some highway bars and a tach ....

Mind me asking what you ride? And every addon is expensive. Hell, a set of bolts is pricey if it's got the company emblem stamped on it.

Hey Strich, I have a Nuvi that I use in my car that I'd love to use on my bike - - how did you mount it?

Hey banddirector - sorry i missed this yesterday. I just mounted it to the inside of my windshield on the left with a few pieces of industrial strength velcro. so far, it's done a great job of holding on to the device and the velcro is still thin enough that i can use the suction mount in the car. the only real issue i have with the windshield mount on the bike is that on sunny days, the mount angle makes the display difficult to see unless i duck down to look. that doesn't make for safe riding on a busy highway. i may pick up a handlebar mount for it.

Bats,
I've got the Garmin Nuvi and i'm pretty impressed with it so far. It's right-on accurate for keeping track of where you are. The recent 2008 map update seems to have some big updates as well as the option to check locations like dining, theaters, etc is really nice. There's a couple of "hack" sites that'll let you d/l stuff like vehicle replacement (i've got a motorcycle now, but i could drive a piece of pizza if i wanted). It's small enough to fit in the car and on my bike. The only thing i'm not pleased about is the memory. It doesn't have much in the way of internal memory, so if you want to download anything, you have to delete files like foreign language text and audio. It does have a slot for a SD card, but i've really had problems getting the device to recognize the card and use the data i've put on it. When i plug it into the computer, it just sees the device as a storage system and not the combined gps/sd card combo. but this is probably just something stupid i'm doing and it's not an actual issue. Garmin finally updated their site so that it's got all the necessary updates and extras.

i use it mostly on the bike and while the speaking is loud enough for the car, it's impossible to hear over the pipes on the bike.

just got my mount at 31. what a relief.

now that they've "downgraded" the difficulty level, 30-40 aint nearly as bad as it used to be.

man, oh man, that quake 2 (#9) video brings back some good memories. no one did the rail gun like id.

edit: ok, that Q3 video takes it. The repetition of HOLY SHIT was quite impressive. it amazes me that people can play at that skill level.

Blue, you gonna make it this year?

it's prolly been a few years since you made the trek.

I go most years, but not for the play. Just to see the sites for a few hours and then leave.

You should try PC Gaming it's far better than gaming on a console. Since you use OS-X it's obvious that you cant play PC games. =(

i dont game on consoles and i was a pc gamer for years before i got sick of MS and their bullshit OS and virus laden applications. Granted, i've been reduced to a handful of games now that i'm on OSX, but there's something to be said for the amount of money i'm saving every year in not buying every game on a whim cause the cover looks cool.

I'm a pretty hardcore Blizzard fan and i'm lucky since they release all of their games in both OS formats.
