I think Hot Fuzz was better than Shaun. More action and while it took itself a little more serious, it was way funnier.

Taking the wife out to Benihana tonight for VDay celebration even though we both hate the concept of VD. It's a good excuse to go enjoy a great meal with flair. Also noticed that Dollhouse premiers tonight. I'll have to tivo it, but let's hope it's as good as Wheedon's past efforts.

Still looking for some guidance on Apple laptops....anyone?

If you want something that looks really snazzy, is easy to use, and costs 2-3 times as much as a pc laptop that will do the same thing, go for it.

And I'm neither slamming them or recommending them, with that comment. I'm just saying they're fucking expensive for what you get.

Bat's, i pulled the trigger about a year ago. I got an iMac and my wife got the laptop. nin is correct to a degree. i quit MS, because the last dell i had was suffering from Vista and bad hardware issues about 3 months after i got the box. I rode it out a year before giving up and doing what i said i never would - buy a mac. Best decision i ever made. Yes, it's more expensive than a pc. Yes, it's not really game friendly (as of now, but i hear Apple's trying to change that). But the stability of an apple when the same company makes the OS as the hardware, figuratively speaking, is the best of all of it. OSX is the easiest OS i've ever used. NO deep down file systems like MS requires, no registry, no difficult install/uninstall requirements. the learning curve for the OS is about 2 hours and you can easily install a MS OS right on the box in a virtual program like bootcamp or VMware Fusion (the one i use) and it doesn't require a reboot to get to the other OS. It just runs it as a program. Its office program, while nice, confuses me more than it should which is why i'm picking up a copy of MS Office for Mac in a few weeks. Conversion is still a bit of a hassle and still incompatable to some degrees. But the progs for OSX are pretty great, Snow Leopard should be coming out fairly soon and the facial recognition in the new 09 iPhoto looks to be really cool.

I think it ultimately comes down to what you need it for. I don't use it for the artsy-fartsy stuff that it's really made for, but I'll likely never go back to MS. I still use XP at work and we have 2 boxes at the house that run on XP and one on vista as well as the 2 macs. All have their place, but my primary is the mac. I love it.

Played for two weeks. Quite possibly one of the worse MMOs ever made.

I only played a few days...damn ugly...

Got you both beat. I lasted less than two hours. quit, uninstall, never look back. it was a dog.

I haven't read Gamespy since i stopped using their application to log into multiplayer games. I think i grew out of that type of humor. Which is why i don't read penny arcade any longer either.

I don't think reaching end game is much of a complaint any longer. With all the dungeons they've added and then added each of those at heroic level, there's plenty to do. And if you get through that, there's the achievement system, which i'm really enjoying. it really takes away from the grind and gives you something else to do. I do agree though that the game has gotten overly simple. But it's still entertaining and is a good waste of time. If not WoW, it'd be something else.

my main is a BM specc'd hunter and i haven't been able to spend enough time with him to complain about the nerf since i keep getting kicked at random moments. i'm not to concerned though as i'm a soloer and not a raider so i still should have decent DPS. hope, hope, hope

I doubt he'll fix anything. He can certainly start to put things on the right track, but doubtful anything will be fixed in 4 years. If the "crisis", generally speaking, were only here in the US, it might be easier, but since most of our problems are world issues, 4 years ain't gonna do it.

...fatty, fatty, two by four...

JK

Can you blame yourself. For as long as i can remember, you post more recipes and "we had some of mrs. blue's so and so or we had a grand old time out at so and so restaurant. the holidays are horrible for that. I've discovered over the last few years that cutting alcohol consumption not only made for a slimmer me, but also a less hung-over me. getting up in the morning is much more pleasant. Blue, have you considered vitamins? it might help a bit in giving you back some things you may be missing out on through your normal diet.

then again, i agree with nin's comment the other day about you putting up a recipe page here. you've passed out more than your fair share of good recipes over the years. as have others.
